FOURPLAY 2011 CALIFORNIA Winemaker Note: A playful wine indeed! A deliciously dark red hue preconditions the senses for what is to come. Aromas of blueberries, cigar and black currant dominate the nose while succulent high tone red fruit comingles with the Barbera’s zesty acidity. Fresh and vibrant, this wine should age well for the next 5-6 years. - J.S. Vintage Note: The harvest of 2011 had a cool wet spring and cool summer providing moderate growing conditions and a crop size small enough to take advantage of the cool weather. About mid-October a series of storms that usually stay in Washington State and Oregon decided on a not so small excursion to Northern California. These early rains made for a challenging harvest but the dedication of growers to wait for grapes to dry out coupled with the winemaking team going around the clock when the weather was good, resulted in some really nice wines. The colors are dark, rivaling the 2010 vintage, flavors are luscious and tannins moderate. Technical Data: Blend composition: 27% Cabernet Sauvignon 25% Barbera 24% Syrah 24% Zinfandel pH: 3.74 TA: 5.9 g/L RS: 1.5 g/L Alcohol: 14.5% Barrel Treatment: Aged 17 months in neutral oak
