August 14, Day 1 – Thursday Depart USA to Mexico City from

Columbus Ohio.

Upon arrival you are greeted by your tour escort and transferred

to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel, in the Historical area, an active

area filled with shops, markets and restaurants. Welcome Mass at

Our Lady of Guadalupe. Overnight Mexico City. (Dinner at the

August 15, DAY 2: Friday MEXICO CITY– FEAST OF THE

ASSUMPTION

Morning breakfast buffet. Today we visit the Shrine of Our Lady

of Guadalupe, the Patroness of the Americas where we celebrate

Mass. We then visit the Plaza of Three Cultures, baptismal site

of Juan Diego In the afternoon we visit the Pyramids of the Sun

and the Moon. Overnight Mexico City. (B. D.)

August 16, DAY 3: Saturday MEXICO CITY:

Morning buffet breakfast. Our full day tour of Mexico City, starts

with a visit to Chapultepec Park and the famous Archeological

Museum. Then on to the Metropolitan Cathedral where Blessed

Juan Diego's Bishop, Juan Zumarraga, is buried and Zocalo

Square (Main Square from the time of the Aztecs). Celebrate

Mass at the Cathedral. The Church of Santo Domingo, which we

see, contains two shrines- Our Lady of the Rosary and Our Lady

of Cavadonga. Visit the ruins of the Aztec Temple of human sac-

rifice that was replaced by the Cathedral and visit the National

Palace seat of the Mexican Government. Our tour continues to

Xoxhimilco to promenade through its channels in one of its typi-

cal “Trajineras” (Mexican Boat Trip). Dinner at a local Restau-

August 17, DAY 4: Sunday CUERNAVACA - TAXCO

Buffet breakfast. We start with a visit to Cuernavaca, the “City of

Eternal Spring,” to see the Borda Gardens and Palace of Cortes

which houses murals by Diego Rivera, the famous Mexican artist.

There is no word for Taxco only a feeling, and one must go there

to experience the sensations brought about only by a visit to this

“City in the Clouds.” We have time to bargain for silver treas-

ures and see the mines from which silver comes. A late afternoon

visit to the Church of San Prisca is where we celebrate Mass.

There will be time allowed for shopping and exploring the market

and many artisan shops that line the narrow cobblestone street.

August 18, DAY 5: Monday CHOLULA- PUEBLA

Morning buffet breakfast and then we depart for Pueblo

- City of the Angels and Churches. The ride today takes

us through the famous Cortes Pass before we arrive in

Cholula, a town very rich in Mexican history. Cholula

is where the world famous “Cinco de Mayo” (May 5th)

battle occurred. Cholula also claims to have a Chapel

for every day of the year! Here we see what’s reputed to

be the largest pyramid in the world. On top of the pyra-

mid lies the Church of Our Lady of Good Remedy. Lat-

er, we visit the Church of Tonantzintla where the most

beautiful example of Indo-Christian decoration can be

admired. Continue to Puebla, the fourth largest city in

México and a great example of Spanish colonial archi-

tecture. The Puebla region is famous for its beautiful

Churches and its hand painted “Talavera” tiles. Visit

the unforgettable Chapel of the Rosary (celebrate Mass

and Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament). Visit the Ca-

thedral, Santo Domingo Church, the Santa Monica reli-

gious museum and Church of St. Francis to see the in-

corrupt body of Blessed Sebastian. In the afternoon we

have ample time to shop in the open-air market and bar-

gain for souvenirs and silver. Overnight Puebla. (B. D.)

August 19, DAY 6:Tuesday OCOTLAN/SAN MI-

GUEL

After breakfast we visit San Miguel del Milagro (site of

the apparition of St. Michael to Diego Lazaro). Our next

stop is Tlaxcala City for a visit to the Monastery of San

Francisco-one of the first Catholic buildings in Mexico.

This is known as the Lourdes of Mexico because of its

miraculous statue and spring water. We then depart for

Ocotlan, where we see the Shrine of Our Lady of Ocot-

lan and celebrate Mass . This is where a statue of Our

Lady appeared in a burning tree and where she desig-

August 20, DAY 7: Wednesday MEXICO CITY:

After breakfast, we celebrate Mass at the Basilica of

Our Lady of Guadalupe followed by a transfer to the

airport and our return flight home. (B.)
