We are a modified block school with minis
Periods 1, 2, and 6 ◦ 90 minute blocks
Periods 3, 4, and 5 ◦ Can be a 90 minute block with a 30 minute lunch
OR
◦ Can be two 45 minute minis with a 30 minute lunch
Math 1 Support, Math 2 Support, and Literacy and Enrichment 9 and 10 are mandatory minis that are a continuum of curriculum ◦ Like Bridge at TJMS (English and Math)

This is an optional program for students who want to take more in depth courses in a specific subject area.
◦ These courses need to be taken in the order shown on the High Quality Pathway information sheet.
At the completion of the High Quality Pathway, students will receive recognition.

• If you took Spanish 1 or French 1 as an 8th grader please make sure you sign-up for the 2nd level if you earned a C or better
• The Seal of Biliteracy is a statement of accomplishment for gaining competency in two or more languages
• If you are interested, please choose a world language as an elective on your course form
• Informational pamphlets are available on our website under Guidance and Counseling Seal of Biliteracy
• Recommend a 2.50 GPA and grade level English skills before selecting a world language in 9th grade

NEW requirement this year
You will need to go home and input your courses online using your yellow copy and the yellow online directions given to you as you exit
The online registration deadline is February 15th
This will be your only opportunity to make any changes to your course requests
If you need help inputting your courses online, we will have an optional open lab for you on Thursday, January 31st from 3:30-5:30pm ◦ There is a link to sign-up on the back of the directions
Course verification cards will be mailed to parents and students in late April
This will be a list of courses the computer will use to create your schedule for the 2019-2020 school year◦ Changes to your course list may still
happen over the summer due to the master schedule
You will be able to request changes in April, using the form provided
