Enabling
individuals with
intellectual and
developmental
disabilities to
progress toward
their full potential.
Our vision is that
all consumers we

enhanced quality of
life, have a sense of
personal value, and
are successfully
included in

Early Learning Happenings!
Through the support of foundations, corporations, and individual donors, Waves is able to provide a place to live, learn, work and play in our community. Please join us in improving the quality of life for the individuals we serve by making a donation in the enclosed envelope. The generosity of others helps us improve and expand services! Thanks to the Tennessee Disability Coalition Discretionary Grant Program, Waves was able to hire Rob Brodsky, a special education teacher, to work with our Brookwood and Fairview staffs. Rob will mentor staff by introducing new teaching techniques, help coordinate center schedules and improve curriculum. We are so grateful to have the support of the Coalition and Rob’s skills!
Community Connections are very evident when you look at all the volunteer
activities!
~The Youth Advisory Council (Y.A.K.) of United Way meet once a month at
the Factory with ladies from one of our homes for Book Club.
~Members of Family Career and Community Leaders of America from Inde-
pendence High School under the guidance
of their teacher, Elizabeth Grindstaff, dem-
onstrate healthy cooking ideas at one of
our homes.
~Once again, the Catholic Heart Work
Camp spent a week volunteering in the
office, centers and homes. The group of 6
students and one advisor came from all
over the United States.
~The Church of the Resurrection in
Franklin spent a day at the Fairview Center
playing games and having fun.
~Members of the First United
Methodist Church of Franklin have
adopted two homes and are
providing cookouts to birthday/
holiday cards over the summer.
~ Members of Rolling Hills Community
Church hosts a Saturday craft and music
event for our residential clients and staff.
~The Hotel Group provides cake and ice
cream every other month to celebrate
birthdays at the Brookwood Center.
~Members of the Church of Latter Day
Saints installed a floor at the Hidden Lake
home and a patio door at the Blue Ridge
home.
