Fred was born in Dunedin, New Zealand on the 9th of April, 1929 He was one of four sons himself, Maurice, John and Collin. He went to Palmerston North Boys, High School, New ZealandHes parents wereJoseph and Clarice

Why did Fred take this path in his lifeHe wanted to help people that needed eye surgery the most and that lived in poor remote communities.

How did Fred contribute to the worldHe contributed to the world by helping the Aboriginal Indigenous communities by bringing back their eyesight he also taught other doctors how to treat eye diseases like Cataract, Trachoma and childhood blindnessWhat difference did Fred make in to peopleHe made a difference in the world by helping people in Indigenous remote communities like Africa, Nepal, Eritrea and Vietnam and he brought their eyesight back.
