We are thrilled to have our new El Reno Family Dentistry office up and running. We opened in our new space off I-40 and Country Club Road on February 1st. We are now better able to serve people throughout Canadian County with this easily accessible office location just off the highway.

During the design phase of our new office, we knew we wanted a nice facility that would feel comfortable for our patients and staff, but more importantly we wanted it to be authentic to El Reno and the surrounding communities. It was important to us that the office reflect the qualities of the town we are a part of. What better way to do that than to decorate our office with photographs of El Reno!

We considered hiring a professional photographer to do this for us, but I felt strongly about doing the project myself. I have always enjoyed photography, and I wanted to show some of the areas of this town that I found most beautiful. There is a lot of history here, from the Rock Island Railroad, to Fort Reno, to the street car downtown that is still operational. As I was traveling around town taking pictures, I quickly came to realize there is a lot more to El Reno than meets the eye. I ended the project with more than 450 photographs taken over a four week period. Although it was very tough for me to do so, we have narrowed it down to 21 images, some printed on canvas, and others framed. We have placed them in our new dental facility. I hope these images mean as much to our patients as they do to us. El Reno is a great community, and we are all a part of it. I believe these pictures

will truly make our office feel like home. They will further solidify our mission to treat our patients as members of our own family and be valuable members of a great community. We plan to hold a community open house in the next few months. We will extend an invitation to all residents in the El Reno area. We hope to get the message out through our website and Facebook page, and also through the El Reno Tribune and the Chamber of Commerce. Of course, we will enjoy seeing you and you viewing the art at your next patient appointment. Thank you for being a patient of El Reno Family Dentistry.

According to a Chinese Proverb, "Every Smile Makes You a Day Younger." We totally agree. The ancients didn't even know about veneers or invisible braces. Here are a few highlights for how you can look younger today.

A whitening treatment at a dentist's office can lighten your teeth up to eight shades. We offer take home whitening and in-office whitening options at our office. Our patients usually prefer the in office whitening treatment because of time and ease.

Porcelain veneers are the gold standard for achieving a younger, prettier smile. The results can be amazing and there are several different types of veneers provided by our suppliers. Veneers can be used to dramatically alter the shape, color, or alignment of teeth. Our goal is always the most natural look. We don't want our patients' teeth looking like "Chiclets." Composite Bonding is also a cosmetic treatment option. Sometimes, we use multiple tools in cosmetic dentistry to get the best result. We always offer FREE consultations.

Orthodontics has changed a lot. In the old days, adults didn't have the option of "invisible braces." At El Reno Family Dentistry, we offer Invisalign and that is a choice for many teenagers and adults. Clear braces that you can remove do require discipline to achieve the end result. However, it has been extremely popular among our adult patients.

Trading out old silver amalgam fillings for new, tooth-colored composite or porcelain fillings can make a huge improvement in your smile. "Silver has a gray cast that often shows through the tooth; the new filling makes the tooth look fresher," Dr. Cohlmia stated. We use only tooth colored filling materials at El Reno Family dentistry. They not only look great, but unlike silver amalgam fillings, they bond to the tooth structure.

Dental implants can re-create the look and feel of natural teeth. More vitally, they help maintain the bone level in your jaw. When you have missing teeth, you need something to counteract the jawbone receding. The dental implant fuses with the jaw bone to keep it strong. It is capped with a porcelain crown that looks like a natural tooth. Dental implants can be a treatment option that adults should evaluate when thinking about teeth restoration.

For those missing many teeth, don't be frightened by the word "dentures." Technology is revolutionizing them too. Dentures can fit over either implants or the remaining natural teeth you have. We know this is a tough consideration—that is why we offer FREE consultations. There is always more that one treatment option to fit your health needs, lifestyle desires, and budgetary constraints. Full-on-dentures may be a better alternative and less expensive than multiple implants.
