Need identified in the 2016 regional freight plan update• 2015 – Initial discussions

• Determined interest from potential local sponsors
• Sought support from TCC and TAQC members
• 2017 – TIP Solicitation with four local sponsor applications
• 2018 – First round of plans begins
2017 TIP Solicitation
2017 TIP Solicitation included the opportunity to apply for a Freight Cluster Plan grant for the first time.• Applicants could apply for $200,000 - $250,000 in federal
funding• Applicants provide an additional 20% local funding match
Four local project sponsors applied for $250,000 each, for a total contract value of $312,500:• Aerotropolis Atlanta CIDs• Gateway 85 CID• Spalding County• Stone Mountain CID
