French Day
On March 18, fourteen Ridgewood High School
students from French IIIH, IVH, and VAP attend-
ed the fourth annual French Immersion Day at
Montclair State University.
Students participated in workshops presented
in French by Montclair professors, including
Paris est toujours une bonne idée (“Paris is al-
ways a good idea”), and Harry Potter and Game
of Thrones en français: Translating Best-Sellers,
which highlighted the difficulty of translating
works of fiction from one language to another.
Another workshop featured short films on
francophone themes submitted by students
from many local schools.
The group was led by French teachers, Ronnie
Friedman and Hélène Palumbo.

of self doubt among the female Muslim
community. The question becomes: Is
the fight worth it? Do I want to subject myself to hatred and dirty
looks for a simple desire or goal?”
