EDITORIALDiplomatic and economic relations between Australia and France founded on a strategic partnership signed in January 2012.

With the first visit of a French President to Australia in November 2014 and the Australian Prime Minister’s visit to France in April 2015, François HOLLANDE and Tony ABBOTT clearly state their joint determination to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

This French-Australian cooperation is particularly driven by international and regional commitment to security and stability around the world and in the Pacific. For the defence French Minister Jean-Yves LE DRIAN, the Asia-Pacific region is a priority zone that represents an integral part of our security environment.

French presence in the South-Pacific encourages regular contact between our two countries’ armies. In industrial domains, armement contracts signed between French companies and Australian armed forces are a reflection of the bonds of mutual trust that have led notably to the establishment of French companies in Australia and the purchase of French military equipment by the Australian armies, particularly in the naval sector. Elements that contribute to operating our strategic force submarines are manufactured in Australia and French technology plays a role in maintaining Australian security. Our two countries clearly trust each other in sensitive domains essential for defence and security.

The French companies exhibiting under the French Pavilion at the Pacific exhibition will be presenting their skills and high technology equipment that can meet the demands of the Australian armies and all those committed to security issues in the Asia-Pacific zone.

I hope the exhibition gives you the opportunity to build industrial cooperation and promising and productive relationships.

Almost 80 ships are equipped with folding fins stabilizers, including cruise ships, frigates or passenger ferries. 37 ships are equipped with non folding fin stabilizer, mainly naval vessels like frigates or aircraft carrier. Finally, several minehunters are stabilized by active tank stabilizer, a system efficient as well underway that zero speed.

Covers for bow thruster’s tunnel: To reduce fuel consumption and avoid acoustic or vibration trouble, we propose covers for bow thruster’s tunnels. This system allows having a smooth hull surface on this important area.
