Spirits on Bourbon was born amidst chaos.Imagine it....the business that you have worked foryears to build is suddenly “made over” by BarRescue© and viola’: Your new bar is plopped in yourlap with Jon Taffer and the producers giving you ahope and a smile and moving on!

Lesser determined men may have buckled...mayhave immediately changed everything back andhoped to continue to blend into the Bourbon Street lights. Luckily, Brad Bohannan and Steve

Smith, owners of Spirts on Bourbon, aren’t the type the walk away from a challenge. Instead, they embraced the new logo, theme, and attitude of Spirits. As Brad and Steve say, they had thebest in the bar business design their menu, logo and theme...you’d have to be a fool not tolisten!

They were excited to learn the history of the building where Spirits is located. The buildingwas formerly owned by Edward DeBoire who ran his barber shop from there. Edward, who had areputation for enjoying the ladies and cocktails, met a tragic end at only 33 years of age.

Producers of Bar Rescue© thought it appropriate to name the bar SPIRITS, as it is saidthat Edward’s spirit still enjoys the bar. In fact, what is now the stage is where his barber chair

stood. It was clear when the stage was erected that Edward did not appreciate having hisbarber chair removed. To pacify him, Jon Taffer added the red Barber Shot Chair in the front topay homage to Edward in a fun way! Having your picture taken in Edward’s Barber Chair isquickly becoming iconic for Bourbon Street!

While Spirits can make nearly any drink in your imagination, it boasts two featured drinks.First, the Resurrection™ is a fruity blue cocktail with a kick and comes in a light-up flashingskull cup that is unique to Spirits on Bourbon. It’s a challenge when drinking one, to get twoblocks without being stopped by someone wanting directions to Spirts to get a hold of that cup!The second drink is Barber Beer, which isn’t a beer at all! It is clearly a cocktail with rich

cream on the top - simply delicious!Spirits menu may attract more locals than tourists, as is it authentically ‘Nawlins! ShrimpBeignets, Seafood and Andouille Gumbo, Cochon de Lait PoBoy and Sliders, Shrimp Stuffed PotatoSkins, Andouille Sliders and Shrimp PoBoys are among the menu items that have locals vying fora seat at the dinner table! Who can blame them, the recipes are those of Ron Duprat from theshow Top Chef!

So Spirits on Bourbon, and Brad and Steve, personally invite you to come in and grabdinner while listening to the dueling pianos pound out your favoritetunes! While some claim they get a glimpse of Edward’s ghost hanging

around the bar, Brad and Steve are more afraid of a disappointed JonTaffer returning! Considering he said in a recent interview that he wasreally impressed with Spirits success and the fact that Brad and Stevetook his work and made it even better, they are pretty confident thatwhen they see Taffer, he will be smiling! As we say in the Quarter, bienvenue au Spirits on Bourbon!
