Jesus said to his disciples:
'As the Father has loved me,
so I have loved you.
Remain in my love. If you keep my
commandments you will remain in
my love, just as I have kept my
Father's commandments and
remain in his love.
I have told you this so that my own
joy may be in you and your
joy be complete.
This is my commandment:
love one another, as I have loved
you. A man can have no greater
love than to lay down his life for his
friends. You are my friends, if you do
what I command you.
I shall not call you servants any
more, because a servant does not
know his master's business;
I call you friends, because I have
made known to you everything I
have learnt from my Father.
You did not choose me, no, I chose
you; and I commissioned you to go
out and to bear fruit,
fruit that will last; and then the
Father will give you anything you ask
him in my name.
What I command you is to love one
another.'
John 15:9-17
Dear Parents, Staff and Students
High Achievers’ Assembly
We recently welcomed back our High Achievers and celebrated their excellent HSC results.
When speaking to the College community I used these young men’s results to reiterate the
importance of commitment and hard work. Our College motto - “The End Crowns the
Work”- was never more relevant or meaningful. With 93% of courses above State average
and 30% of students gaining an ATAR above 90, it was clear to those gathered that at MCK
you will be taught by an expert teaching staff. It then is up to students to commit to their
studies, work hard and get the deserved outcomes.
It was a wonderful occasion with much to celebrate and I would like to thank the Member
for Rockdale, Mr Steve Kamper, for joining us for the morning and presenting the awards.
Parents and Friends’
The first P&F meeting for the year will take place next Wednesday, 26 February
commencing at 7.00 pm in the College Library. The Executive will be introduced to parents
and will speak about the role they play at the College. We will also take this opportunity to
present the goals from our Annual Plan that we have undertaken to achieve in 2020. These
meetings generally go for about an hour and everyone is most welcome.
Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)
Each year the Commonwealth Government collects data to inform funding decisions to
support students with disabilities. Although the funding will never be sufficient, there are
many millions of dollars at stake. It is important that every student who is entitled to
support receive an education that prepares them for life beyond school, which can only
happen with personalised and specific intervention and adjustments. Further information
can be found by clicking on the link below.

MCC Summer Finals
The Summer MCC season has reached the business end of the season with the Semi-Finals taking place this week.
Congratulations to our Tennis Squad who have reached the top of the ladder for the second consecutive season and will take
on Marist North Shore in their Semi-Final. Our Under 14's Touch Football team have also had an outstanding regular season
and have qualified 2nd. They will play Marcellin Randwick in the Semi-Final. The Under 14's Basketball team scraped into the
Semi's due to a superior For and Against and they will also take on Marcellin Randwick in what is sure to be a close match.
Unfortunately the A Grade Cricket team missed out on qualification by 0.75 points due to the quotient rule. We wish all of
these teams the best in their respective Semi-Final match-ups. If successful, the Grand Finals will take place next Thursday.
NSWCCC Blues Award
Earlier this year Jonathan Boediman (Year 11) was recognised for his outstanding
contribution to the NSWCCC Golf Team in their win in the Australian All Schools Golf
Championships.
Jonathan received a NSWCCC Blues Award, which is a prestigious award bestowed to a
select few students across a range of sports. These students are nominated by their
coaches and a selection committee then decide on the worthy recipients. This is a
deserving award for Jonathan, who is a very mature and humble young man who often
puts others before himself. These are traits very fitting of a Marist student.
On behalf of the College community I would like to congratulate Jonathan on an
outstanding achievement.
