Current Effective Treatment Strategies for TBI

Supporting healthy dietary variety early in life is important. Family initiated child goals (n=18) for
treatment fell into the categories of dietary variety and mealtime behavior. Parent goals were also created
to support generalization of skills to the home.

guide as outlined by Champagne and Schubmehl (2002) is a valuable resource in selecting activities,
which can engage the person in a purposeful goal directed occupation.

The Efficacy of Optical & Non-Optical Devices

This evidence based research project examines the efficacy of optical and non-optical low vision devices.
Although current research supports more congruently non-optical devices, it is important to note that
research also supports the preferred use of optical devices due to financial and simplistic considerations.

Occupational Therapy Students’ Stigmatizing Beliefs about Individuals with Schizophrenia

This quantitative cross-sectional study assessed OT student attitudes toward people with mental illness
(MI). Attitudes improved overall during the 5-year OT program; however, no significant differences were
found for some attitude factors, e.g., blame. MI stigma must be addressed in OT training.

This review identified a variety of academic and non-academic accommodations available to post-
secondary students who self-identify as neurodiverse. Faculty and student perspectives regarding

Throughout the process of recovery from stroke and brain injury, muscle tone in the upper extremity
fluctuates from hypotonicity to hypertonicity resulting in flexor and/or extensor synergistic movement

as well as facilitate neurorecovery as muscle tone evolves to maximize independence in functional
