RTU Similac for Spit-Up due to low consumer demand. Retailers will be selling what they have left and then it will not be available. We no longer have anyone on this formula so we have deactivated this product. Similac for Spit Up will now only be available in the powdered form for WIC. Participant Centered Services: Try using the following language to openly discuss safety with the families you see this week- "This is a safe place to talk about anything that impacts you or your children. We want to help. If you are concerned about your safety or the safety of your children, I will personally do everything I can to make sure you are safe and that you stay safe before you leave here today. Is there anything I can help you with?" Customer Service: If you are answering the phone for someone else or a caller is asking for someone who is in a meeting, on vacation, out sick, etc., it's best to say she is not available right now or she is out of the office. People often don't believe that someone is in a meeting and it is nobody' business if someone is sick or out of town. Resource Sharing: ASPHN's new brief, "Guidelines and Health Conditions Related to Timing of Early Infant Feeding," offers relevant findings and proposed supportive measures to address infant feeding practices, including the timing of complementary foods and the link to health conditions such as obesity, food sensitivity, allergies and anemia. comments on the proposed objectives for Healthy People 2030. The public

comment period will be open from December 3, 2018, through January 17,

2019. You are invited to review and comment on the proposed objectives and you

may also propose additional objectives for consideration. Please note that later,

measures for the objectives will be included.

Why is Healthy People important to Iowans? It is the very foundation for federal

funding and programs, and an important resource for the next generation of Healthy

Iowans: Iowa’s Health Improvement Plan.

Job Posting: PROGRAM COORDINATOR NEEDED FOR THE SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM FOR

WOMEN, INFANTS & CHILDREN (WIC) PROGRAM

West Central Community Action seeks a Program Coordinator

for an eight-county WIC Program.

Duties of this position include grant/program administration, clinic scheduling,

staff supervision, managing client/community services, and providing direct

services as needed. The WIC Coordinator will maintain relationships with county

health departments and other local public and/or private health providers.

Must be currently licensed as a Registered Dietitian (LD/RD, Registered Nurse

(BSN), or Licensed Social Worker (LBSW) in the State of Iowa. Three years' of

supervisory, program administration, management experience, travel, valid driver's

license and auto liability insurance is required. Public health experience is

preferred.

This is a Harlan-based, full-time position with a minimum annual salary of $49,920.

Benefits include: Health, dental and life insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick

pay, IPERS and 403(b) retirement programs.

300.10 Contact Agency Personnel Training

New Employee Training Course

The NETC is a two-day course offered approximately every other month. The course provides basic program operation information through discussion and interactive activities. Trainees must attend the following sessions: All Staff AND Health Professional (CPAs, non-CPA Professionals) OR Support Staff The All staff session will help build a common knowledge base about program operations while

emphasizing the team approach. The Health Professional and Support Staff sessions will focus

on the employee’s clinic responsibility with a focus on position-specific tasks.

All personnel who work at least 20 percent of full time for WIC must attend both days of the WIC New Employee Training Course (NETC) within the first six months of employment. All personnel who have access to the WIC data system, those with scheduler-only access, and those working less than 20% of full-time for WIC, are required to attend one day of NETC, the session for all new staff *. Contact the State WIC office for questions regarding the completion of NETC by other WIC staff, such as staff who have been previous WIC employees. *All CPAs are required to attend both days regardless of their FTE status.

Staff must register for NETC on the WIC Web Portal website at https://idph.iowa.gov/WIC-

Portal/Training-Personnel.

Before attending the course, each employee must: Complete the agency’s orientation program;

Accompany and observe at least one family unit during a WIC certification appointment,

including all encounters with clinic staff;

Observe and work alongside a co-worker with the same or similar job responsibilities for at

least one clinic;

View the new participant media program (see Policy 215.85);

Receive a security token and complete the data system homework within the training

environment; and

Complete the NETC homework.

Fiscal Integrity 200.430 Compensation - personal services

(a)General. Compensation for personal services includes all remuneration, paid currently or accrued, for services of employees rendered during the period of performance under the Federal award, including but not necessarily limited to wages and salaries. Compensation for personal services may also include fringe benefits. Costs of compensation are allowable to the extent that they satisfy the specific requirements of this part, and that the total compensation for individual employees:

(1) is reasonable for the services rendered and conforms to the established written policy of the State WIC Office.

Note: Agencies are only reimbursed for staff time that is spent performing allowable WIC duties. Agencies will not be reimbursed for staff time performing non-WIC (other program) duties. See WIC Policy 315.43 Reporting Personnel Costs.
