Confedercampeggio stands for the Italian
Camping Confederation: a charity (and
assistance) organisation founded on 2
July 1950, promoting initiatives for the
harmonic development of the practice of
camping, in any form and at any age, while
respecting the territory and protecting the
environment.
In other words, Confedercampeggio works
in one of the many segments of international
tourism: open air tourism for holidays in a
tent, with a caravan or camper-van.
Confedercampeggio has more than 22,000
family members, each of which receives a
clubcard which is valid all over the world,
as part of the “Camping Card International” circuit, thanks to the
F.I.C.C. (International Federation of Camping and Caravanning) and
the F.I.A. (International Automobile Federation).
The “Confedercampeggio Card” is sponsored by Assocamp
(Recreational Vehicle Retailers Association) and SAI-Fondiaria, now
Unipol, a leading insurance company.

Every year, we organise an international camping rally in a different country, known as the “Rally dell’Amicizia” (Friendship Rally, a registered trademark) and an exhibition dedicated to open air tourism, called the “Ciao Campeggio Show” (registered trademark) to coincide with the trade fairs in Vicenza (in the month of March) and Parma (September). The show is attended by campsite owners, parking area owners, tourism boards, public authorities and organisations.
We have set up our own campsite and parking area circuit in Italy and Europe, called the “Ciao Campeggio” circuit, in order to increase the value of the Confedercampeggio Card.
Since 2006 we have been holding an annual referendum for our magazine readers to choose the best operator for “Quality and Friendliness”, selected according to rigid criteria.
Today, Confedercampeggio has approximately 189 clubs, 16 regional federations and more than 22,000 family members. This makes us the oldest and largest cam-ping organisation in Italy, with a capillary distribution network throughout the Ita-lian territory.
PublishesIl Campeggio Italiano - CampThe Italian camping magazine was founded in 1957 as the official Confederation magazine. It has a print run of 25,000 copies and is sent out free of charge to all Members. The ma-gazine has articles on general tourism issues; information on the life of our associations, trips organised and trade fairs, national and international rallies, etc. Everyone is welcome to contribute.

“Italian Campsites and Parking Areas” Information GuideThe longest running “Italian Guide” to travelling tourism and camping, this year available with a completely new graphic look, thanks to the collaboration with Michelin Travel Partner Italia Srl.It contains useful information on the Italian structures that are members of the Confedercampeggio “Ciao Campeggio” cir-cuit, offering discounts of up to 15% or free gifts for Confeder-campeggio Members.The guide is also for use by campers who prefer not to stay in campsites, and who enjoy travelling without a pre-established destination. The database is kept up to date thanks to collaboration with campsite owners, who fill out a specific form, as well as Muni-cipal Authorities, Tourism Boards and our Clubs.

Newsletter “Il Carapace”Our newsletter is sent out to more than 15,000 Italian campers every fortnight, ke-eping them informed about what’s going on in our clubs and the open air tourism sector. The same news in English is also sent out all over the world, to more than 4,000 clubs and campers.
