Long Term GoalsHow do I visit?1. School Project In 2014, John McAuley helped Amani create a brand - new two –room school. We currently enroll 1st

and 2nd grade students in our school. However, in order to complete our on-site school, we need to add a second two-story building to house the remaining 5 classes. This will cost roughly 170K. Once we finish this huge goal, not only can we instruct our own children on site, but we can offer a number of scholarships to students in the community. Amani English Medium School will provide community outreach programs as well, including ESL, family planning, and HIV/AIDS prevention.

Please plan ahead!

We welcome both short and long term visits! Pervious volunteers have helped paint and repair facilities, tended our garden, and led sports programs with our children (they love soccer!)

Please visit our website for more information & to register as a volunteer.

How can I contribute ? Amani runs on donations like yours. Please consider bringing donations of toys, sports equipment, clothing, school supplies or direct funds. If you bring food please consider it must be distributed evenly among ~50 kids. Additionally, our goal is to find a sponsor for each child to cover their educational and personal needs. Visit our website for details!

Short Term Needs (updated Feb ‘17)1. Fencing: Although Amani has

round-the-clock security, we have temporary wire fence that we want to replace it with a gated brick wall. Please help us make sure our kids are safe day and night.

2. Mosquito nets: Malaria is very prevalent problem in this area. We need to make sure every child’s bed has a proper mosquito net. These are inexpensive (5-10 USD) and can save lives!

3. Livestock housing: Amani has a small herd of cows, goats and chickens on-site. These animals provide additional income for our orphanage. We need to make repairs to our pens, and would appreciate donations of supplies and labor!
