OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The Fripp Audubon Club’s mission is to educate and engage members on all things related to wildlife with

particular emphasis on birding.

The Audubon club sponsors field trips and collaborates with schools and community groups throughout Beaufort County

FRIPP ISLAND BLUE BIRD TRAIL 20 Monitored Boxes – Monitor Team 18 Members

9 of 15 boxes produced Hatchlings – 15 Carolina Chickadees and 45 Blue Birds

Global IBA In November of 2009 the Beaufort Barrier Islands IBA was

designated as an area of national importance by the Audubon Society. This was due to the very large numbers of shore, sea

and wading birds that either breed, winter and use the islands as a rest stop during their migrations. Many of these birds are

endangered or threatened species. In May of 2015 further study of the islands led to their

designation as an area of Global importance.
