“Watch out!” Lodi screamed as a few nerf bullets flew right past me. “Holy cow!” I

jumped behind a rock. Good that I did that else I would have been hit right in the leg. So: my neighbour Lodi, two of his friends: Tomek, Louis and I were playing nerf gun war. It’s a game where two teams have to shoot all of the people in the other team to win. Lodi and I were a team. In the beginning of the game Lodi took Louis out but we didn’t find Tomek jet until now... As I looked around where Tomek could be. I saw some movement on the hill left of me. I risked getting shot by stepping out of my cover behind the hill to get a better shot and getting a higher chance to hit the target. I shot and it hit something!

“Crap,” Tomek called out surprised by my unexpected shot. “Hooray! We win!” Me and Lodi did a weird little victory dance. As we all came

toward each other to make new teams Louis made a discovery that changed the world forever

“What the heck is that?” Louis asked. “Where?” We asked. “Over there, next to that big rock.” “Oh, Over there!” We went toward what looked like a jar with some gooey

green liquid inside. “It’s a frog leg! I think,” Tomek called out. “That’s just nasty!” I told them. Lodi kicked it of the hill for fun. But then the jar

smashed on a rock what was laying at the bottom of the hill and the jar scattered. “Oops, Whatever let’s just play another game.” Louis and I were in a team this time.

I climbed on one of the hills to look for Lodi and Tomek. I saw something move! My heart skipped a beat. I crawled closer to the edge to look. It came closer to me, I aimed my gun and then BANG a bullet came from my right and hit me in the face. Lodi jumped out of his hiding spot with a mean grin on his face and victoriously said “Out!” I was about to call out to Louis that Lodi was standing here. But the rules were when you got shot you couldn’t say anything, I don’t want to be a cheater so I kept my mouth shut. Then I heard Tomek scream out from somewhere in front of me. Lodi heard it and slid back into his hiding spot. Tomek was taken out which means that only Lodi and Louis were “alive”. Louis saw me lying on the floor (Which means you are out) and quickly scanned the whole area. Unfortunately Lodi’s hiding spot was out of Louis’s sight lines. He thought it was safe so he went to go on to the next area. Lodi jumped out of his hiding spot and shot Louis in the chest. He happily said “Out!”

“It’s a 1-1. Final match,” I said a little sad because my team lost. I was about to make new teams:

“Darn! Tomek, your mom is coming to pick us up,” Louis said sadly. “Ah! Why?! Why?! Worst moment possible! Ten minutes later was also good!” “Should I get the bullets so you guys can go to your mom?” I asked. “Okay. You return them to me when you are done okay?” Lodi replied. After

Lodi, Louis, and Tomek left I began looking for bullets and picking them up. When I thought I had all of them I walked toward Lodi’s house. When I was almost out of the hill place I saw another bullet right next to the scattered jar with the goo around it. Whatever, as I picked it up the goo seemed to move a little toward me!

“Holy crap!” I screamed horrified I jumped backwards but a rock was lying in the way and I tripped over it. When stood up I looked at the jar again nothing moved. That didn’t happen! I told myself that was just my imagination, I hope. Just in case, I’m not going close to that thing anymore.

A few months later Lodi moved to Holland. Then I learned that even the smallest

memories like this one are probably going to be the subjects of your memoir. Most

important moments of someone’s life start with an ordinary boring day.
