UNIWORLD INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL@ SERI ALAM
(UIS)
April 2017
From the Principal’s Desk.
Dear Uniworld International School (UIS) Parents and Students:
“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself. The
function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to
think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true
education. There is no end to education..”
Warmest Greeting & Welcome to UIS 4rd Monthly ( April) Newsletter.
On 18th April 2017, UIS officially launched the Eco-School by WWF
(World Wildlife Foundation) together with our mentor, Kerry, who is also
Malaysia’s eco – school’s official sponsor.
For the coming month of May, after school activities (ASA) will be
introduced from 3.30pm. – 4.30pm. UIS will be introducing two new
sports, that is Archery and Basketball on top of the existing Swimming
and ESL classes. Also, there will be Basic Chinese on Tuesdays and
Islamic studies on Thursday. All students have an option to choose.
Forging a strong relationship between the school and home is
beneficial to student performance and academic growth. Please take
advantage of the upcoming opportunities that you will have to become
involved at UIS as parents and students. We appreciate your feedback
at all times to make better developments and improvements at all levels.
During the month of May, we will be conducting both external and
internal examinations.

VISIT TO THE SCIENCE LAB
For the first time, arrangements were made for the Primary 2 (P2) students, by the class teacher, to visit the Science Lab in UIS. The students were very excited and could not wait for the day to see what was in the lab.
On that day, the students accompanied by their teacher, were first briefed by Ms. Luciana, the science teacher, on the rules of the lab. After that, they were shown the model of the human body, dead snakes, insects, the fishes in the aquarium and the skeleton. The students were very interested, amazed and very happy. Only one student was scared to see the snakes and the skeleton at first.
Thanks to Ms. Luciana, the P2 students made a second trip to the science lab. This time, they helped to wash the aquarium. They learnt how to upkeep the aquarium by cleaning the water, rocks, corals, shells and stones. Students learnt the processes in cleaning it. They also found out that it was not an easy job, but they can be proud of themselves for doing a good job. They had an enjoyable time at the science lab and they want to visit it again.
GARDEN IN THE CLASSROOM.
Students in UIS are encouraged to have a garden in the classroom. They can have a garden that is related to their studies as well as the ECO programme. A lot of information and knowledge can be learnt through this activity. It is also very interesting and students learn in an enjoyable and fun way.
Students in P2 had started having a garden in the classroom and it is named ‘P2 GARDEN OF KNOWLEDGE’. They have plants, pictures, painting, mini trees with leaves and flowers, egg shells, smurfs and their houses, and even a pond. Students are very happy and they are learning in a fun way.
