Our participation is a reection of an awareness, the awareness that we belong to a local Church, called a Diocese. We express this belonging, and our union with the Bishop of the Diocese, in many ways: by praying for “Our Bishop Thomas” every time we come to Mass, by participating in events, retreats, and ministries that are bigger than any one parish, and by giving to things like the CDA. So, thank you! And thank you to everyone who is so generous in so many ways here at Christ the King. My dream is that we would continue to grow in our generosity, as a response to the generosity of Christ who “for your sake … became poor although He was rich, so that by His poverty you might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9) May we all continue to grow in the riches of grace that Jesus desires for each of us. I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who participated in the Charity Development Appeal (CDA) for the Diocese of Phoenix this year. Our parish has surpassed our goal of $120,000 through the generosity of so many. Please see the chart below for the summary of our parish’s involvement in this diocesan appeal.

There is one number that I wanted to point out, and for which I want to thank God. The participation of parishioners this year ended up at 19.3%, which was up from 12.7% last year. This is an increase of 50% in participation! When we see it that way, we can be really happy by the great response to this appeal.

When we began the CDA this year, I stressed often the “why” of our involvement with a diocesan-wide campaign. Our participation is a reflection of an awareness, the awareness that we belong to a local Church, called a Diocese.

We live the mission of Jesus Christ in our love and service to others.

Thank you for the amazing response to the many, many requests to direct your state tax dollars to Christ the King School. Our "Last Week" push created an additional $20,000 in funds to be used for Scholarship Assistance for families here at our school. Thank you to Fr. Matt and Fr. Scott for sharing their stories about how CEA and Catholic Education made a difference in their lives. If you did happen to miss out, don't make the same mistake next year. You can visit the website at www.CatholicEducationArizona.org and set up a budget plan. Every Catholic tax payer should take advantage of this. Every resident in Arizona who values quality education can, and should, use the power of tax-credits, regardless of their church registration. Again, thank you!

Perpetual Adoration Many of you would like to be part of our adoration here at Christ the King but have not been able to work it in yet. We have a ‘substitute’ program that helps us with our needs when adorers are not able to find someone to take their place when they have to be gone. Rather than making phone calls, which can be sometime bothersome, we merely send out an

email (bcc: for confidentiality). When you are able to volunteer you reply to the email; otherwise, just ignore it. Send your request to be put on this list to [email protected].

I believe in the Son, I believe in the Risen One I believe I overcome, by the power of His blood Amen, amen, I'm alive I'm alive because He lives Amen, amen, let my song join the one that never ends (Because He lives)

I was dead in the grave, I was covered in sin and shame I heard mercy call my name, He rolled the stone away Because He lives I can face tomorrow, Because He lives ev'ry fear is gone I know He holds my life, my future in His hand

Cf. Ps 66 (65): 1-2 Cry out with joy to God, all the earth; O sing to the glory of his name. O render him glorious praise, alleluia.

The Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through

him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he

suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and

the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of

sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Ben Fielding, Reuben Morgan © 2006 Hillsong Publishing CCLI Song #4591782

Everyone needs compassion, love that's never failing. Let mercy fall on me. Everyone needs forgiveness, the kindness of a Saviour. The hope of nations.

Saviour, He can move the mountains. My God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save. Forever, Author of Salvation. He rose and conquered the grave, Jesus conquered the grave.

So take me as You find me, all my fears and failures. Fill my life again. I give my life to follow, everything I believe in. Now I surrender.

Shine your light and let the whole world see. We're singing for the glory of the risen King. Jesus, shine your light and let the whole world see. We're singing for the glory of the risen King.

Lk 24: 35 The disciples recognized the Lord Jesus in the breaking of the bread, alleluia. Sr. Suzanne Toolan ©1971, ©1985 GIA

I am the bread of life. You who come to Me shall not hunger; And who believe in Me shall not thirst. No one can come to Me unless the Father beckons.

And I will raise you up, and I will raise you up, And I will raise you up on the last day.

The bread that I will give is My flesh for the life of the world, And if you eat of this bread, you shall live forever. You shall live forever.

Unless you eat of the flesh of the Son of Man, And drink of His blood, and drink of His blood; You shall not have life within you.

I am the Resurrection, I am the life. If you believe in Me, Even though you die, you shall live forever.

Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, The Son of God, Who have come into the world.

Beautiful Savior, King of Creation, Son of God and Son of Man!

Truly I’d love thee, Truly I’d serve thee, Light of my soul, my joy, my crown.

Fair are the meadows, fair are the woodlands, robed in flow'rs of blooming spring; Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer; He makes our sorr'wing spirit sing.

Fair is the sunshine, Fair is the moonlight, Bright the sparkling stars on high; Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer, Thank all the angels in the sky.

Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations, Son of God and Son of Man! Glory and honor,

Praise, adoration, Now and forevermore be thine!

Pues, ¡gracias a Ustedes!
