Dear readers,

Hello!

This newsletter begins with a somber note. Spring is here and yet we seem to be

experiencing an unprecedented heat wave. We do need to be taking better care

of our environment. Use only what is necessary and share more is the mantra to

adopt.

And from this note, we move on to celebrations. Our athletes have done us proud

yet again. In the recent special winter Olympics, our athletes returned victorious

with 73 medals. Competing against 2700 athletes from 107 countries, the Indian

athletes won 37 gold, 10 silver and 26 bronze medals. A total of 89 athletes

represented India in Alpine skiing, snow boarding, snow shoeing, figure skating,

speed skating, floor hockey, floor ball (and unified floor ball), at the mega event

hosted by Austria. What an incredible achievement! We couldn’t be prouder. I

hope all of us do our part in recognising and celebrating our players.

In cricket as well, with the recent test victory over Australia in the Border-Gavaskar

series, India has now won series against every test-playing nation in the world.

India defeated Australia by eight wickets to take the four-Test series by two to

one. A young team led by a young captain and a seasoned coach displayed

perfect teamwork. We are exhilarated.

This newsletter continues in this vein of celebration, as you will find out!

Read on, happy readers!
