Leaving campus without permission from the Upper School Dean of Students or her designee is an offense that may result in suspension.

Uniforms: A Plea for Help! Upper School students are still growing, and as a result, they should not be wearing uniform items that are several years old. Many upper school students are in consistent violation of the dress code regulations set forth in the ASH Upper School Rule and Plan of Studies. Specifically, many students’ uniform skirts or shorts are too short and many students’ shoes are in deplorable condition. Uniform skirts and shorts must be no shorter than one inch above the knee and school shoes should not be written on, splitting apart, etc… The Upper School administration asks parents to help us to correct these and other uniform violations, so that students can avoid disciplinary action, beyond warnings, demerits, and detentions. A student who continues to violate uniform policies may be asked to leave the day school, until she can comply with uniform regulations.

Confetti Eggs Thanks to your teamwork this booth has been very successful in generating lots of fun and

dollars to our school over the years. Please turn in all empty eggs to the Advancement Office by

Wednesday, April 22nd. Any student who turns in ten dozen eggs will get a FREE dozen for

each ten dozen turned in, at Conge'. Don't forget to put your child's name on your bag or

cartons.

If you have any questions or need more detailed info on cracking the eggs please call Dora Couret at 523-7833.

A confetti egg is a real egg shell that has been emptied, RINSED OUT, then filled with confetti

and taped closed. It is used to surprise friends, family, and maybe faculty by breaking them over

an unsuspecting head.

Here is what to do: Tap the top 1/4 of the small end of an egg in a circle using a spoon or knife. Lift off the

circular lid and pour out the contents. The hole on the top should be about the size of a quarter. The yolk will

pour out without breaking. Throw away the lid and PLEASE RINSE the large shell thoroughly and allow it

to dry upside down. Replace dry eggs in the carton. We will take care of filling and taping them. Please send

as many cartons as you can. Any student who turns in ten dozen eggs will get a FREE dozen for each ten

dozen turned in, at Congé. Don't forget to put your child's name on your bag or cartons. If you have any

questions or need more detailed info on cracking the eggs please call Dora Couret at 667-7832 or 523-7833.

Thanks for your help!!!

Dear Parents and Campers,

With spring and summer right around the corner, the staff at the Sacred Heart Equestrian Center

has been diligently planning our summer camp experience. I will explain in detail below how we will be

running our camp this year because it is a little bit different from the previous years. We strongly urge any

student interested in joining the PE equestrian program to participate in summer camp or lessons during

the summer to make sure it is something that they will enjoy throughout the school year.

Our beginner camps will be held during the weeks of June 1-5, and June 22-26. This camp is

designed to accommodate both English and western riders. Any boy or girl who is at least six years old or

going into first grade may attend. It is designed for students that have never ridden before or who have no

formal equestrian training. This would be a great camp for a student who is thinking about joining the PE

equestrian program next school year, but is unsure if it is something that they would like to try.

This year we will be holding an intermediate English camp during the week of June 8-12. This

camp is designed for both girls and boys who are going into second grade through high school. These

students should have previously taken lessons at another barn or ridden with us. Riders should be able

walk and trot on their own.

During the week of June 15-19, the Sacred Heart Equestrian Center will be holding its first ever

western week! This camp is specifically designed for students interested in any aspect of western riding.

This camp is for all levels of riders.

Finally, we will be holding our advanced English camp from June 16-19. This camp is designed

for girls and boys in seventh grade and above. These students must have previously ridden or taken

lessons at another barn or with us. Riders must be able to walk, trot, and canter on their own and jump a

minimum of two feet. Students in the advanced camp will receive a lesson in the morning on their

personal horse, if they have one, and a lesson on a school horse in the afternoon. Students are NOT

required to have their own horse for this camp. We will wrap up this week by attending the HCHJA show

at LeBocage on June 20th, but this is not required of the camper.

All campers MUST have a current physical on file with the Schools of the Sacred Heart before

attending summer camp. Students who play other sports at SSH and already have a current physical on

file do not need to get another one. You will need to mark your application with “Physical on File”. If you

already have a liability waiver on file, you do not need to sign another one.

Thank you for your interest in our summer camp program and we look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,

Morgyn Roberts, Director

Sacred Heart Equestrian Center
