"I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink. I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face." (3 John 13-14) Hey Church family! It's never easy to say goodbye, is it? This past Sunday was Gina Dodd's last Sunday with us as faithful member & Children's Ministry Worker. What a faithful job she has done for Mount Olive Baptist Church and for the Lord Jesus. I can't thank her enough for always being open to God and His moving in her life and our church’s midst. But Gina will be back very soon. The only thing
different, is that Gina will be serving the Lord and representing our church in a new place - Zambia, Africa. And she'll be ministering to some new folks - orphans and widows! May God go with her and bless her every moment. Also, don't forget to pray for the others that God has led from our flock to new heights…Dan & Sheree Wooten to the gospel Youth Ministry in Ardmore, OK, and James David Bowen to school and ministry at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. God may be moving others from our midst also in the days to come. I don't like when God takes folks from us. But at the same time I accept God's Will as something I will never fully understand. God is still in the business of calling His people to be involved in His work. God has a sovereign and perfect plan. That's all I really need to know. He'll take care of the details. We just trust Him. Let me share a piece that I was given back in high school as I was getting ready to leave home for college. May it touch your heart as much as it has mine through the years.
From GOD IS NO FOOL - By Lois Cheney "BITS & PIECES"
Bits & pieces, Bits & Pieces...People - people important to you, people unimportant to you cross your life, touch it with love and carelessness, and move on.
There are people who leave you, and you breathe a sigh of relief and wonder why you ever came in contact with them. There are people who leave you and you breathe a sigh of remorse and wonder why they had to go away and leave such a gaping hole.
Children leave parents; friends leave friends. Acquaintances move on. People change homes. People grow apart. Enemies hate and move on. You think of the many who have moved into your hazy memories. You look at those present and wonder.
I believe in God's master plan in lives. He moves people in and out of each other's lives, and each leaves his mark on the other. You will find you are made up of BITS & PIECES of all who ever touched your life, and you are more because of it, and you would be less if they had not touched you.
Pray to God that you accept the "bits & pieces" in humility and wonder, and never question, and never regret.
BITS & PIECES...BITS & PIECES
Isn't that so true? A wonderful reminder that God is in control and knows what He's doing in our lives. Thank you Lord, for taking these precious folks into your future for them…and for bringing them home safely real soon. May they know of Your Presence each and every day. God still has a plan for Mt. Olive and His people. Please be in prayer as God guides us within His perfect will in the days to come. God bless each of you. I'll see you Sunday.
