ThankyouforpurchasingourfrontswaybarkitforyourRZR.ThisfrontswaybarwilllimitthebodyrollinthefrontofyourRZRandisinfinitelyadjustablesothatyoucantuneyourcar’sabilitytocornerasyourterrainorracingstylechanges.
Includedinthekit:
1swaybar.1blackswaybarplatemount.2swaybarbushings.2billetbushingclampswithgreasefittings.2billetaluminumarmclamps(2piecesarethreadedand2pieceshavethroughholes).4halfinchrodends.4-1/2x20jamnuts.2aluminumlinks.8stainlessspacers.4-5/16x1¼”bolts.8-5/16stainlesswashers.4-5/16nylocknuts.4-3/8x1”bolts.4-3/8nylocknuts.8-3/8washers.4-10mmx1.5x50mmbolts.4-3/8washers.2-3/8x2¼”bolts.4-3/8stainlesswashers.
1.ParkyourRZRonaflatsurfaceanddoNOTjackitup.Thisinstallationiseasiestifthecarissittingontheground.Makesureyourlowercontrolarmsandsteeringboxframemountsarecleanbeforestarting.
2.Removetheplasticmountthatholdsthebrakelineandfrontdifferentialwirefromtheframeanddiscardit.Yourbrakelineanddifferentialwirewillnowberoutedbetweenthesteeringboxboltsinsideoftheframesectionthattheyusedtomountto.
3.Locatethesmallroundholeonthepassengersideoftheverticalframestructureapproximately10”upfromtheskidplate.Drillitoutto3/8”.Seepicturetotheright.Repeatthisonthedriversidetakingcarenottodrillthroughtheinsideedgeoftheframestructurethatisnotpre-drilledliketheoutsideis.
4.Mounttheblackswaybarbrackettotheframewiththefoldedtopfacingforwardusingtwoofthefour3/8x1”bolts,washersandnylocknuts.Snugthesedown,donottighten
themyet.
5.Pushthebottomofthebrackettightagainsttheframewithyourhandsothebracketsitsflatagainsttheframeandholdinplace.Usingthelowerholeinthebracketasaguidedrilla3/8”holeinthefactoryframe.Seepicturetotheleft.
6.Nowinstallthelowerboltsusingtheremaining3/8x1bolts,washersandnylocknuts.Pullupanddownonthebrakelineandfront
differentialwiretomakesuretheyareloosebehindtheswaybarbracketandbetweentherackandpinionbolts.YOUDONOTWANTTOPINCHTHESE!Nowtightenallfourboltscompletely.
7.Iftheswaybarhasnotalreadybeeninstalledonit’sframeplatethengreasethebushingsandinstallthemontheswaybar,OUTSIDEofthecenteringrings.Slidethealuminimbushingclampsoverthebushings.Theywillbetightandmayneedatapfromarubbermallet.Installtheswaybarassemblyontheswaybarplateusingthe5/16”bolts,washersandnylocksandtighten.Theswaybarshouldmoveupanddownwithlittleresistance.Ifthebaristootightandrequiresexcessiveforcetomove(10lbsorforceistoomuch)thenyouhaveitinabindandmakesuretheswaybarplateisboltedtothechassisstraight.
8.Now,measurefromthebushingtubeofthelowercontrolarmout3”andmakeamark.Thisiswheretheinside
ofthebilletarmclampshouldbe.Seethepicturetotheright.
9.Installthearmclampsonthearmslooselywiththelowerboltonly.Theboltsfortheclampsareinstalledinthemandare10mmx50mmlong.Installthesewiththeboltsfromthefrontsothereisnothingstickingoutofthebackoftheclamp.Nowinstallthelinkwiththe
stainlessspacersinthebilletarmclampandtightenboth10mmbolts.Makesuretheclampisoutsideofthemarkbuttouchingthe3”markonthearmandthatitisstraightupanddown.DonotletitleanbacktowardtheCVboot.IfyoudonothavethemstraighttheCVbootclampcanhitthearmclampandfail.TightenthemSTRAIGHTup.Seethepictureonthepreviouspage.Theseshouldbetightenedto24ftlbswithatorquewrench.Ifyouovertightentheseboltsyoucanstripthealuminumclampsobecarefulwiththistorquesetting.
10.InstallthetopofthelinktotheOUTSIDEoftheLASTholeoftheswaybar(closesttothefrontbumper)usingthe5/16x21/4”bolts,washersandnylocknuts.Thelinksshouldcomesettothesamelengthandtheyshouldlineuptotheswaybareasily.IftheydonotlinerightupthencheckthatyourRZRisperfectlyflatfromlefttoright.Adjustyourcarasneeded.Ifyourcarislevelandthelinksstilldonotlineupeasilythenboltoneofthelinkstotheswaybarandadjusttheotherlinklongertolineupwiththeswaybarhole.Thegoalhereisthatwhenthecarislevelthebarhasnotensiononit.Youwanteverythingtobefreeandeasytoinstallwhenthecarisperfectlylevel.Ifyoudon’tfollowthisprocedurethenthecarcansitcrookedorlowononeside.Thelinksareadjustablesoyoucanaccountforallthelittledifferencesfromcartocarandarmtoarmandmakethisfrontswaybarsystemworkperfectlyforyou.Now,tightenthelinktotheswaybarandtightenthejamnutsontherodendstothealuminumlink.YourswaybarinstallationisDONE!
Tuningyourswaybariseasyandyoushould,byallmeans,tryitoutinallofit’spositionsandseewhatyoulikethebestforyourdrivingandterrain.Thefrontholeclosesttothefrontbumperisthesoftestsetting(mostbodyroll)theswaybarwillallow.Thisismuch,muchlessbodyrollthanstocksostarthere.Thisisperfectfordesertorlowtraction,loosedirtsituations.Themiddleandlastholeclosesttotheframemountareconsiderablystiffer(lessbodyroll).Themiddleholeisperfectforahighersidebiteortractionsituationslikesandduneswithrazortires,racetracks,tackyclay,ect.Thestiffestsetting,lasthole,isbestforveryheavycars,shortcourseracingwithloweredrideheightsandanexperienceddriver.Youalsohavemoreadjustmentsthatcanbemadeusingthearmclamp.Ifyouruntheclampouttothe4”distanceyouareaddingleveragetotheswaybarandmakingitstiffer(lessbodyroll).Donotgooutfartherthan4”orincloserthan2.5”.
Thisswaybarsystemisdesignedtoworkwiththestockarmsystem.Ifyouhaveanaftermarketsetofarms,youshouldinstallthebarandremovethecoilspringsfromyourshocksandcyclethesystemtobe100%SUREtherearenoclearanceissueswithupperarmsorotherthingsthatmayhavechangedonanaftermarketsystem.Lastthing,gooutandhavefun.Runithardandchangethesettingsonthebartoseewhatyoulike.Thankyouagainandenjoy.
