• Apple and tomato are fruits of the plant.• Potato is not a fruit. It s actually a stem that

stores the food for the plant. • The flowers of a plant form fruit.• We call some of the fruits as vegetables

because we eat them when cooked or they do not taste sweet.

FLESHY FRUITS AND DRY FRUITS

FLESHY FRUITS• Fleshy fruits are fruits that

have pulp. • For example apple, papaya

and lemons.• Some fleshy fruits like guava

and apples have a skin that is soft and we can eat.

• Other fleshy fruits like papaya and watermelon have skin that is hard and we cannot eat.

DRY FRUITS• Dry fruits have no pulp and

usually the fruit looks like a pod, shell or nut.

• For example groundnut and peas
