    Drainage

    Types of drainage design:

    1. Traversable Ditch with Concrete Lining

    2. Symmetrical or V-shaped Ditch

    For superelavation at the horizontal alignment, openchannel ditch is used with the frame and vane cratesinlet.

    Culvert is also installed to allows water flows

    underneath the road, then divert them to low-lyingarea.

    Drainage Maintenance

    Cutlassing or cleaning off the ditch regularly to avoidthem from silting up and sending water back to the road.

    Provide vegetation to reduce soil erosion at the side

    slope of the V-shaped ditch.

    Conclusion

    Route length is 2.615km with one bridge. Road standard of R5 with design speed of

    85km/hour.

    Design consideration is following the standard Embankment volume > Excavation volume

    Therefore, volume of soil needed to fill in forproject purposed is 35413m.

    Hopefully can improved the quality of road inSarawak by performing good design, betteroption for road pavement, effective bridge anddrainage system design.
