The fourth Industrial Revolution is rapidly progressing --- the physical objects are seamlessly getting integrated into the information network. The Internet is combining with intelligent machines, production systems & processes to form a sophisticated network. Industry 4 is setting the stan-dards of Digital Transformation of the process & systems in the manufacturing environment. Hence, it is imperative that the DNA of the workforce need to adopt such revo-lutionary changes.FEI Team is not far from the reality. In this year we took a leap in terms of changing our traditional business portfolio. Today we are in the verge of completing two massive Crane jobs in KPCT & Goa Shipyard (refer be-low), executing our first redundant drive system in textile industry & opening the doors for our Micrex View product in a Sulphuric acid plant. We also bounced back with ferocity in machine automation. You will see more of it in 2018 calendar year .

Merry Christmas & wish you a Happy, Healthy, Wealthy ,Year 2018, which also happens to be the year of “The Dog” in Chinese Calendar, & the animal is characterized for being Trustful, Faithful, Expressive, Playful, Curi-ous, Sociable, Aggressive, Shy yet Bold & happens to be the Best Friend of Human Beings. We owe a lot to them & have plenty to learn from this creature --- it’s loyalty, curiosity & trust.

It’s always a pleasure to be in the midst of you all @ the best possible time of the year when the Planners introspect & goes back to the drawing table, Dreamers dream & the Ex-ecutors lead frantically to finish the promised task. What a year 2017 was ! – Tipsy, Topsy Turvy as the curve below indicates. Uncertainty, Adopting to new methods & Learning had been the Hall Mark. We still are not certain of what all are in store for us in the

remaining part of this fiscal which fortunately has not changed it’s last date to Dec 31st, as many wise men had predicted during the Mid

Being the Channel-In-Charge Person ,I’m mighty pleased with the 94 strong fraternity members out of which 60 CP’s enjoy the privileges of our Channel Program while 34 new entrants are waiting in the wings to make-ing their presence felt with a 75 million mark in this fiscal. No doubt that this has been the most challenging fiscal year in the last decade & practically all of us had a truncated year of nine months @ the most. I take pleasure to thank all of you for your wonderful performance in Q2; & I’m sure that “The Fraternity” will be able to achieve last 6 months results in the last quarter of the year. Wish you the best! FEI will provide you the necessary impetus to do so.

Our CP program is becoming richer day by day and my job is to ensure that we support you in making inroads in new markets and new verticals. 2nd & 3rd quarter has given you the feel of the vibrant environments & the perfect “Fit of our products” in Cranes, Water, Rice, Food & Beverage, Solar, Nuclear & Infrastructural segments. Our Vibrant Sales Force, Product Managers, Marcom Team & the Application Engineers were al-ways by your side. Our enhanced product basket, accessing the new avenues ease of approvals in EU’s and extended support provided all the triggers that you were looking for!

Also, FEI kicked off the Channel Financing Program on Aug 10th 2017 and it’s positive impact can be seen in the Q2 and Q3 results. Channel Financing have proved a steady and cheaper source of purchase power to enhances sales, ease documentation, help you in discipline & plan better to provide you a better cash & faster cash flow. At present we have made the trial with a dozen of channel partners & we expect to take the score to 20 by the financial year end.

Our Samasya Nivaran Interaction is providing better insight to CP’s business, it’s planning & be a part of their operational difficulties in their holistic business cycle. Expansion of the served territories, visibility, trainings, ease of doing business, had been the hall mark of the program in this year. My immense thanks to take part in it.

Lucknow has always been a multicultural city that flourished as a North Indian cultural and artistic hub, and the seat of power of Nawabs in the 18th and 19th centuries. It continues to be an important centre of governance, administra-tion, education, commerce, aerospace, finance, technology, design, culture, tourism, music and poetry. FEI in coordination with M/s. Motion-man brought a new life in the industrial hub of Lucknow with a co-shared Lift seminar at Dia-mond Palace, Lucknow.

The Seminar was attended by 30+ customers and out of them many were Lift manufactur-ers, controller manufacturers and OEMs. It was an interactive session and customers have ac-knowledged the good features of Fuji products like Safety Compliances, In-Built ARD Feature, and Communication Interfaces with Micro-Con-troller & Dedicated Drive for Lift Applications.

Leaving aside the Lift segment, the customers, contractors who stood to gain are the HVAC – Water contractors and the industry that is asso-ciated with Lucknow Metro.

When the Sales Operation started in North 2, it carved out a picturesque territory consisting of J&K, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh with it’s Head office @ Chandigarh. I was fortunate to re-ceive the territory & started the operation with 2 GET’s. Success started rolling in & I was fortunate to expand the operation by encompassing Rajas-than with 2 more engineers. So, it was from the mountains to the foothills & thereafter to the des-erts & sand dunes. Thanks to FEI to give me the re-sponsibility to represent such a beautiful territory which always inspired me. Last two years, the task was to build the team, formulate the strategy & to expand the reach. Results started pouring in. To-day, FEI has its presence in all the industrial hubs of the region and we contributes 12 to 15 percent of Company Sales. To help me in our N2 growth sto-ry, I’m assisted by 4 Channel Partners in the form of OSNPL, Monika, Wonder Systems & Reckers in Punjab. These Channel Partners stretch them-selves to the adjoining areas of Jammu, Himachal & some parts of Haryana.The region’s growth was spearheaded by Originative Solutions Network Pvt Ltd. FEI recognised the efforts of OSNPL for last two years and awarded him a 4 days Japan trip in November which included Sightseeing and factory visits in Japan.

I’m ably assisted by 5 Channel Partners to ad-dress the Cement, Textile, Mining, Power, Nucle-ar, Chemicals, Fertilisers and Water segment. The spearheading products are Instrumentations & So-lar Drives. We have the following Channel Partners who are making us proud. Creative Automation Systems at Bhilwara , Desire Energy Solution Pvt Ltd & Kyoto Automation at Jaipur, Indexel Engineer-ing and Prospective CP Power Equipment at Kota. Effective 18th November, I’m happy to inform you that the NR2 has extended its operation with the introduction of major part of Madhya Pradesh. The initial operation of MP will be initiated from Indore by Saurabh & thereafter will expand to cover the Cement belts & upto Gwalior. At present, we have 2 market access partners in the form of Reckers & Autotech.

The team is charged with the possibility of touch-ing a quarter billion in the next fiscal. We need your support to make it happen.

Channel Partners in major metros in South prioritised sustenance rather than business growth. Realisation has dawned in that we need to focus in B cities and industrial towns. The CPs in areas like Koraput, Vizag, Trichy, Mysore, Belgaum, Tirunelveli will have focus-sed attention in 2018 calendar year with our door opening products like condition moni-toring, flow metering, CEMS, energy saving solutions and customised Plant Visualization solutions with Micrex View. Affordable Mo-tion-HMI solutions to small OEMs, which has driven growth in Chennai will also be empha-sised in far flung areas of South. While search for New CP’s will be enhanced, existing CPs will be urged to expand their area of operation.


We have shed our inhibitions & were hyper active in 3rd quarter of the year. It gives me immense strength & plea-sure to share the regions recent success stories. We just concluded three back to back symposiums. The first ball of fire took place at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 1st Nov to 4th Nov. FEI gave substantial support for “ Paper-Ex” ex-hibition which was exhibited by value-added reseller M/s. Himnish Limited. The 13th edition of this World’s larg-est paper show was inaugurated by Honorable Minister of State for Commerce and Industry - Mr C R Choudhary, who also witnessed FEI’s rapid transition to End users, our products and its inherent strength. Our stall was flooded with enquiries & we were fortunate to receive substantial orders @ the stall.

The 2nd event took place at Haidergarh unit of Balram-pur Sugar Mills on 7th Nov’17. Needless to mention that top management of electrical and instrumentation team were impressed with our products and solution offerings. DS Automation, our Channel Partner in NCR compliment-ed us for supporting them from day one and making this seminar a grand success. We are sure to reap orders in coming months.

Subsequent to Paperex Exhibition the next step was to have a continuous monitoring and progress. To gather quick response over customer’s queries and indeed to have “one to one” interaction, FEI along with Himnish ar-ranged an event “Papertech” in the rich belt of Muzaffar-nagar on 10th of Nov’17 which was very well attended by 30+ customers of the paper belt.

The team is all charged with the customer interaction & awaits success with baited breath. Secret of success be-hind all these events were excellent teaming, great sup-port from our management & the missionary zeal of the participants.

Himnish Limited was established in 2007 with an aim to provide automation products and services for Industries like Paper, Sugar, Ce-ment, etc. The company founded by Mr. Piy-ush Tyagi (Managing-Director), with an aim to utilize his skills and experience in the field of industrial automation. It’s an ISO 9001:2015 Certified company and is located at Ghazia-bad, UP. Mr. Piyush understood the depth of FE product basket in Field Instrumentation, Gas analyzers, Drive & Automation & the im-mense opportunities it provide. So, it took no time to galvanise our relationship, initially as a Value Added Reseller, & the Road map etched for the company will allow them to reach meteoric heights.

Mr. Piyush Tyagi has an experience of 15yrs in sales, service and commissioning and used to work with ABB system house. He has good knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical and Pro-cess system of Paper industry for paper mak-ing process. To support him in his deeds, he has a team of 3 engineers who are dedicat-ed only to paper industry and are actively working in UP, Uttaranchal, Punjab and Rajas-than & Haryana. They also do have a strong back office team of 5 members for quotation making and accounting work. The Company specializes in Sectional Paper Machines, Re-winders, Cutters, Head Box Automation in Paper Industry, Leaving aside the same they have made their presence felt in Compressor Automation, Cold room automation, Multi-pulse Rectifier Upgrade Kits. They have equal competence in AC/DC Drives.

They recently exhibited in Paper-Ex at Pragati Maidan and have done seminar of Papertech at Muzaffarnagar for Fuji products which shows their zeal and enthusiasm.

FEI began its operations in Gujarat region since 2008 with a resident office, the business was full of challenge with no local channel partner, while our rivals were op-erating with well-established setup and channel part-ners. It was a time to enhance our brand visibility which requires a consistent marketing approach. Today FEI is considered as one of the major Automation Player in Gujarat with the business coverage from almost all ter-ritories as well as verticals.

FEI climbed to the market leader position with a well-de-fined strategic implementation in OEM segment and left rival’s miles behind in Diamond and Elevator segments. In this Financial Year FEI co-shared the Engimach plat-form at the Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat with our leading Mercury Plus Channel Partner Powertron-ics during the period of 6th to 10th December. Power-tronics Co-shared Stall was inaugurated by our CEO Mr Shoumitra Chatterjee. The stall had on display the huge range of FE Products & the special attraction was the 12 axis PLC based motion control. Exhibition witnessed lat-est technology, products, processes, emerging innova-tions and knowledge sharing platforms. The exhibitors profile were mainly from all leading giants in machine tools, robotics and automations & end users in the field of air compressors. Powertronics was extremely happy with our Package of Values & the display of 10 axis pick & place robot. They are confident for superlative growth in the remaining months.

I’m proud of West Team which has judiciously balanced it’s exploits in OEM-Lift-HMI & Solar segment along with the path breaking activity in the form of Bumpless trans-fer of polymer booster pumps, DCS order for sulphuric acid plant and pumping station automation of M/s. GNSSSB for water distribution and monitoring via PLC & SCADA system.

I am pleased to inform that Darshinal Electro-mation availed POV as per MAP policy page 22 for product promotion. In a glittering ceremo-ny & presentation, Darshinal invited more than 300 panel builders. The seminar took place in EKA club which is a very prominent place in Ahmedabad near to famous Kankaria Lake. The 2016 Kabaddi world cup took place in EKA club & hence is relevant flow of adrenalin is a foregone conclusion.

Approximately 60 panel builders and 75 at-tendees were present to witness & know FEI’s product panorama & it’s strengths. Everyone was unanimous in conveying that the seminar was great and very insightful .It ended with de-tailed Q&A session followed by dinner and a quick tour of EKA club. Sun Automation Director Vikas Pandya’s com-ments summed up the feeling of all the partic-ipants ;-

ISO 9001:2015 Certification for Manufacturing and Service – Yogesh Dalvi


GST is now about 5 months old but still the Taxpay-er are finding it difficult to adjust to the new regime. While GST Council, in its meeting on 06.10.2017, re-laxed the norms for SMB segment – relaxed norms for SMEs and few other facilitation measures, the council, in its meeting on 10.11.2017, has reduced the rates from 28% to 18% in 177 Chapters/ Tariff Items. Only 50 Chapters / Tariff Items are now under 28%. FEI’s VFDs, VFD Panels, Parts related to VFD shall attract 18% GST with effect from 15.11.2017. GST rates of other FEI items shall remain same, i.e. 18%. Relaxed norms for small and medium business decid-ed in the meeting of 06.10.2017..........

1. Small businesses within Rs.1.5cr, can now file return once a quarter & pay the taxes quarterly. Switchover to quarterly filing will happen from the cycle starting October 1.

2. Earlier, irrespective of the turnover, enrolment of GST was mandatory for inter-state supply. The same has now been amended & allows the service provider within 20 lakhs turnover to be exempted in case of an inter-state supply of services except J&K.

3. Businesses up to an annual turnover of Rs.1.5 crore have been exempted to pay GST on the advances re-ceived and GST will now be applicable and payable, when supply happens. However, 1.5 crore turnover criteria has been removed in the GST council meeting on 14.11.2017

4. Goods Transport Agencies were not providing ser-vices to the unregistered entities, causing a major mess. Now the same has been amended & GTA’s can provide services to an unregistered person & they shall be exempted from GST.

5. The council has waived off the penalty for delayed filing of initial returns for August and September, giv-ing a major relief for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Also, those who paid the late fee will receive the credit.

Other facilitating measures decided in the meeting of 06.10.2017, are....

GST amendment update - Ashes Nandi

1. The reverse charge under Section 9(4) module have been deferred till 31st March 2018.

2. The e-way bill module shall be launched and ap-plicable in a beta version from 1st January 2018 and will be rolled out nationwide from 1st April 2018.

Composition Scheme changes decided in the meeting of 06.10.2017.......

1. Eligibility of composition scheme raised to Rs 1 crore from Rs.75 lacs.

2. Traders will pay 1%, manufacturers 2% and restaurants 5% under the composition scheme.

3. Due date of FORM GSTR-4 for the quarter Ju-ly-September, 2017 is extended to 15th Nov.

We recommend to refer to the notification no. 41/2017, dated 14.11.2017 to see the reduced tax rates as well as the extensions provided in filing of GSTR 3B, GSTR 1, GSTR 4, GSTR 5 & 5A, TRANS 1. Further,

• The due dates of GSTR 2 & 3 for July 2017 to March 2018 shall be worked out by the officers.

• Late fee for GSTR 3B for August & September, 2017 if collected will be re-credited to their Elec-tronic Cash Ledger under “Tax” head instead of “Fee” head so as to enable the assesses to use that amount for discharge of their future tax liabilities.

• Late fees for GSTR 3B from October, 2017 onwards (for assesses whose tax liability is NIL for the peri-od) will be Rs.20/- per day (Rs.10/- per day each un-der CGST & SGST Acts) instead of Rs.200/- (Rs.100 + 100) per day.

• A facility for manual filing of application for ad-vance ruling is being introduced for the time being.

To meet industry, need and ease the process of making quotation for FEI and our channel partners sales engineers; FEI project team have launched the Standard Mega/ACE Drive Panel Price Indicator to cater to yours fast-track proj-ect needs. it is not a calculator, but an indicator based on which the budgetary offer can be sub-mitted within a short time.

We urge respective FEI sales account personel to ensure that such helping tools along with the Vertical Domain Industry Catalogues are used effectively by the channel partners. We are in process of circulating the same to our sales and channel partners to improve the speed of response.

Step 1- Go through technical specification.

Step 2- Select 16 digit code by selecting pre-defined codes in tool, for each code.

Step 3- Cross check required technical specifica-tion with mention specification in tool.

Step 4- Check delivery time and discounted prices for submitting offer as per technical specification. Note: 1) Both the above tools are just a helping mech-anism to respond faster. Make sure that human intelligence is used to over-ride required deci-sion if any.

Gas analyzer model ZRJ which was a flag-ship product of FEI for the last 20+ years now faces a challenge from the major component suppliers. Hence, as part of product consolidation, please be informed that we have discontinued the infrared gas analyzer ZRJ series. However, we will continue to provide spare parts and repair services for the same for the next years. We would also like to give advance intimation about discontinuance of ZRE by March 2018!

Making our presence felt in Nuclear Energy – Neha Gupta

Subsequent to my stint in HVAC vertical for 4 years, I have been assigned to look after Social Infrastructure, where Nuclear Energy potential & possibility is huge & it is a non-traditional business. Though, Social Infra covers a huge ambit of operation like Transport, Defence, Marine, Hospitals etc, I have taken this opportu-nity to share my learning in Nuclear Sector.

In 2010, Government drew an ambitious plan for the expansion of Nuclear Power Plants to 63,000MW by 2032 and the plan is already on the tables with the announcement of 10 Atomic Power Plants by 2022. Few are ready in construction, others are in expansion phase. Fuji Electric France is working closely along with the French and Indian Nuclear Energy Organisations. During the 8th International Exhibition and Confer-ence – “India Nuclear Energy 2017” in Mumbai organised by the DAE (Department of Atomic Energy) and INS (Indian Nuclear Society), Fuji Electric France along with French Embassy participated in this conference in November. FE displayed the analog type Transmitters and Dosimeter & Radiation Monitoring Equipment.

Two focussed areas in Atomic Power Plant where Fuji Electric can supply their equipment are --

• Nuclear Reactor area for which FEF has a special type of Transmitters withstanding high radiations. Out of the classified 3 zones, viz i) Zero Radiation, we can supply normal Transmitters, ii) Mild Area – upto 18KRad where FE recently received the approval from Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology – BRIT.(iii) Harsh Area – upto 50KGrays. The objective behind introducing this scheme is to provide basic services for water supply, sewerage, urban trans-port to households and build amenities in cities which will improve the quality of life for all. It covers WTP, im-proving the distribution system, reducing the wastage, setting up STP plants at urban & rural levels. Major cit-ies have been allocated funds under the first phase of the mission which provides immense business opportu-nities for the System Integrators. FEI tasted success in few pockets where focused ap-proach was adopted. We, are approved in GWSSB which resulted in receiving 5 Pumping Station automation project orders. Approval from other agencies are in the final stages. Water business like many end user busi-ness needs encompassing many stake holders, develop-ing intimacy & proper mapping to win a project. FE has every product to cater to every Life Cycle Stage of the Project. The graphics below will indicate the immense possibilities of hitting the jackpot.

I joined FEI on 2nd of January 2017 & presently responsible for machine automation sales in OEM segment. My team, presently con-sists of 4 members in West 1 region (Maharash-tra & Goa). The 17th International Rice Grain Pro Tech Expo was held during 17th – 19th Nov 2017 at Kalpata-ru Math in Burdwan, a small town near Durgapur which homes as many as 60 rice mills. FEI collab-orated with Kar Brother Electric, and participat-ed in the exhibition for the first time.

The expo was organized by Business Empire Ex-hibitions and sponsored by Burdwan District Rice Miller Association and was participated by Mill-er Associations of the adjoining states. This expo exhibited the latest trends in the rice mill tech-nology, inviting large associates like Buhler, Mill-tech and similar giants to put up their products as exhibits and educate the current technologies of efficient extraction of rice from the grain. The list of visitors is not just limited to West Bengal and surrounding states, but also attracted inter-national millers from Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Our stall exhibit included a panel designed to operate the Mill section, which was ceremonial-ly booked during the expo by a renowned North Bengal Rice Miller. We also exhibited our com-pact yet powerful boiler optimization package which caught eye of many visitors, millers and consultants and we have received a handsome number of enquiries for optimizing/monitoring the performance of their existing boilers.

Overall, the expo was a success and we look for-ward to work more deeply into the rice mill in-dustry and expand our horizon. Happy to inform you that enquiries started pouring in.

Fuji Electric's premium drive FRENIC-VG offers new feature on drive redun-dancy. Capa¬bility in terms of drive redundancy for the critical application like booster pumps in textile application, Anchor winch in marine etc. In Fuji it’s mentioned as Direct Parallel method in which 1 motor can be run through two Drives and the solution and philosophy being used to run two individual AC Drives in Redundancy to run same Motor, as required by application. By developing this feature, it gave us the opportunity to grab the order in Con-tinuous Polymer Processing.

Philosophy of the system: The system equipped with two VFD and Synchro-nization card on optical fiber communication and the units working in par-allel with VG Drive Synch have a high level of redundancy. The system keeps running without interruption even if any of the follower units is non-func-tional. In case of a failure in the running system, the redundant system will takes place immediately without interruption. The actual level of redundan-cy, however, needs to be carefully defined considering the motor, load and the requirements of the process. The master drive unit and the fast drive to drive optical communication has to be functional for the VG Drive Synch functionality. All the logic including contactor interlock (prevents the closing both contacts simultaneously) is in-built in the drive firmware.

SPF has travelled miles since its inception! Ini-tially it had mixed responses due to our channel partners, familiarity with our earlier generation product and also due to some of the perceived limitations. The challenges were won over by our core team who helped the CP’s in migration of earlier applications and software. The team cre-ated a dossier of FAQ which helped the process of migration. Given below are the extracts from the dossier which will help all CPs to learn and teach their team.

1. Is SPF CPU expandable; if so how many modules - All SPF CPUs are expandable on 3 sides - Front, Left, Right. SPF can have maximum 6 expansions on the right side out of which maximum 3 can be analog / load cell/ temp. measurement modules. On left side and front board, SPF can hold up-to 1 expansion.2. Are WSZ I/O’s and programming cable compat-ible with SPF? Apart from ethernet modules, all WSZ cards are compatible with SPF. WSZ program-ming cable is also compatible with SPF.3. How many SPF CPUs can we connect togeth-er? Total of 16 CPUs can be connected together via CPU LINK. One CPU will be master, and max 15 CPUs can act as slaves.4. Does SPF support PID and Auto tuning func-tion. Yes.5. Does SPF support digital output in PID? Yes, SPF PID has both analog and digital output. Digital PID is achieved by using PID analog output feedback and using the analog output to generate PWM output via PLS – PWM feedback.6. Can SPF run servo? Yes, 60 I/O SPF CPU can support upto 4 axes servo. Others can also sup-port subject to application.

We have successfully commissioned many applications using the same, especially in packing industry. We are able to achieve I – mark detection accurately.

8. How many subroutines can we define in SPF? We can assign upto 15 subroutines in SPF.9. Are all WSZ Functions available in SPF? No. Some of the functions are present in SPF as System Func-tion Blocks. For other important functions of WSZ, we have already made User Function Blocks in SPF.10. How many high speed inputs are there and what is the frequency? There are max 8 high speed inputs in SPF. The frequency of these would be 200KHz. FEI developed an Event Based SMS Alert Solution and alerting features.

The SMS alert solution is required where the time-ly alert to multiple people are extremely critical. The solution is based on standard Modbus TCP/IP interface which makes it easy to configure and use. Based on the alarm, user defined SMS text are sent to pre-configured mobile numbers.

By this solution a user can control and and moni-tor the system even from a remote location.

Salient Features of the Architecture:

• SPH PLC on Redundant ring architecture on SX bus.

• Simultaneous communication of SMS Alerts, HMI and SCADA with only 1 ET1 (Ethernet) com-munication module on Modbus TCP/IP, Fuji own proprietary Protocol. Separate communication modules are not required.

• The Bump less switch over of Hot Standby SPH PLC provides seamless communication to GSM Modem enabling on time SMS alerts.

“Memories draw down the lanes”. It was 1st week of April 2016 when I had returned from Asyaport @ Turkey after commissioning the gigantic 9 Ship to Shore Cranes during my prolonged stay in the scenic disturbed land of late. I still remember the joy within me when I heard about the receipt of Krishnapa-tnam order & I believed that I was the legitimate executor of the Project. I was delighted when I was handed over the RTG crane retrofit project.

I fastened my seat belt within the aircraft for my first visit to the site. On reaching the site, I witnessed filthy old crane lying almost dead for about 4 yrs. The task was full of challenges when i checked the various electrical and mechanical parts and cross examined one of the running cranes for comparison. The user expectation was to match the functionality of the machine one to one. There was no existing document (like functional description, interlocks list, error list, IO list etc.) of these cranes apart from electrical and structural drawings.

The project was more of retrofit cum transformation of RTG to ERTG with CRD and HV to LV conversion. Hence, lot of structural modifications were planned for arrangements of those giant structures. It was imperative to re-position the existing panel fitting arrangement. The team could successfully complete the drawing approval and panel FAT at our FE-GEMCO works. We prepared the various documents like IO List, Interlock List, Functional Description, wiring details etc. During erection and commissioning a lot of cable had to be re-routed and few were revamped due to relocation of panels and existing cable sizing. The herculean task was to identify the correct cable and terminate at the right point, since the ferule identifiers were different from the existing ones. After proper erection, the system was powered on with DG set and the network configuration was stabilised. Gradually the individual motions were configured followed by all in conjunction.

The major portion of the RTG commissioning is completed. Anti-Sway motion function & few updates in HMI / SCADA and endurance test is due to be completed after the site readiness. We won the order with our VG1 drives & SPH PLC.

Recently we faced certain issues in the Functionality of TS 1000 Series HMI which in the new version had incorporated VNC Server function. Unfortunately, random error was found in TS 1000 series with System Firmware (2.220a & 2.230a) due to the influence of VNC Server Function.

Errors noted were like Error 1: Power lamp Turned on but screen was black; Error 2: Error (15:0) was displayed; Error 3: After Error (15:0), password input screen was displayed; Error 4: Error (36:0) was displayed.

With high agility our product marketing took up the cause with Factory and offered the remedial solu-tion to our channel partners. We sent pen drives on immediate basis to upgrade System Firmware of TS 1000 series HMI to 2.240a or 2.250a. This could be done by using V-SFT 6.0.27 Software using USB or Ethernet cable.

Channel partners could also check System Firmware Version in Box pack HMI, from the Sticker on side of the Box.

Location of probe was changed by End User/Consultant after supply of items from Stack to Preheating zone of Stack to suit the objective of scale reduction.

Project name : VFD/PLC/Zio2 Analyser based O2 Optimization SystemProject Objective : To optimize the oxygen level in order to reduce the scale formation in billets.

Project Brief:

• Initially there were no process conditions provided by customer hence a standard O2 probe with VFD/HMI/PLC panel was provided to run the system in both Auto & Manual Mode.• In Auto mode, system took O2 set point via HMI operator input and transmitted to do the PID Control of the VFD. Hence the blower speed output was controlled by the VFD which maintained the O2 level.• In Manual mode, the system took reference from the potentiometer controlled by the operator.

Challenges, Learnings & Solutions:

• A probe with educator was supplied but due to presence of high dust and oil in the sample the system got chocked leading to erroneous & high reading of O2 (19%).

• To overcome high dust and oily sample conditions, SS Sintered filter with SS probe was replaced instead of previously supplied ceramic filter. How-ever after 1.5 months of operation the probe was mechanically bent due to high temperature inside the furnace.

• As a final solution: probe with bypass design and of SS310 material was supplied to resolve all the above mentioned problems. Now the O2 opti-mization system is working successfully in Auto and Manual Mode as per the requirements of the End User/ Consultant resulting in finally a happy and satisfied customer.

• Recommendation: Request Customer to use good quality fuel to opti-mize Oxygen consumption..Optimizations can be made better with the incorporation of a tempera-ture control loop.

Warranty Assessment reports is being shared to Channel Partners within 7 working days from the date of receipt of defective material. FEI is geared to cater to normal repair within 10 working Days from the date of receipt of material & only if it’s associated with the Warranty Claim form filled with other mandatory details.

In-case materials are sent without Warranty Claim form or incomplete forms, warranty claim cannot be processed and will be conveyed to the CPs within 96 hours of receipt of material. Un-der such cases material desired by the CP’s will be sent back within 72 hours, thereafter i.e (af-ter 96+72 = 7 days) on “To Pay basis” and FEI will hold no responsibility of the material thereafter. FEI will utilise the current dated cheque toward the expenses occurred for delivery.Some of the salient points which deserve your attention are -

• Through warranty claim form we require de-tailed explanation of problem or complaint. Of-ten, we are unable to find a hardware problem and hence difficult to judge your complaint in ab-sence of your detailed observation.

• Please provide date of installation and date of failure. This helps us to understand frequency of failure and to improve quality of our product.

• No information on the subject is “irrelevant or Useless”. Hence, Collect as much information as possible including images of machine or panel. Think of visiting a Doctor & informing of all the symptoms.

• Our evaluation fees cover costs associated with diagnosing product problems.

Hence rest be assured of “Paying Right”.

At the outset, let me apologise for the CHAOS that all of you faced in the festive season. I also thank you for your patience & understanding during our difficult times. Believe me, it was absolutely be-yond our control due to Country’s rapid progress in “ Caring & Sharing”, which kept the Courier In-dustry busy & they failed in their promises & com-mitment aplomb!.

Our MAP offers freight reimbursement to our CP’s in Earth Category & above. The settlement period is half yearly and annually based on category. The CPs can claim the reimbursement after submitting invoice details of shipments. After a detailed sur-vey, FEI chose Bluedart as a partner for our courier services from Bhiwandi Warehouse to your door steps. Their performances were monitored regu-larly & they served the need. The on-time delivery ratio with Blue Dart was 95% to 98% ( based on the geographical locations) till last week of September 2017. FEI came for a rude shock when complaints started pouring in late September about the irresponsible behaviour of Bluedart. Our business was ham-pered because of irregular movements of goods and challenges in terms of GST and demonetiza-tion. We all surely regret the episode and we hope to correct the system with your valuable feed-back. We have started giving partial load to Fedex, Safe-express and GATI and are monitoring them to find out their strong areas to distribute the load. In case, if our channel partners desire the material@ different locations or by alternate carrier, then the same shall be done on “too pay” basis with insur-ance to Channel partners account.

I assure you of improvement even though, I’m keeping my fingers crossed due to the mad “cou-rier rush” during Christmas & the New Year.

Over a million installations already!

Their expertise is not only in manufacturing standard transmitters but also in custom built transmitters like High static pressure DP transmitters in O&G (Top-side and Subsea), Radiation tolerant Nuclear grade transmitters, sanitary type transmitters for Food, Pharmaceutical and Beverage industry, passivated diaphragm for hydrogen applications and many more. Remote seals are welded construction with low oil volume and made in Fuji plants only (to avoid trouble of accuracy and stability during integration of threaded seals as done by many of our competitors.). We provide all agreements & certifications like explosive atmosphere (ATEX, IECEx, CSA), CE, SIL2, NAMUR, NACE, DNV-GL for marine, PED and many more.

Along with ISA Delhi Chapter, we arranged a seminar on 17th Nov, for our target end user centric audi-ence comprising majorly of EIL/IOCL/NTPC/BHEL/IGL/PDIL/GAIL/Various Incineration Co.’s/KBR etc and many more. We had an audience of 90+ knowledge seeking people, hearing us with rapt attention. The product panorama presentation of Sanjeev was followed by the French Experts who covered the unique-ness of the products in the field of sensing & radiation.The Q&A session followed by networking dinner were full of acknowledgement and appreciations. It was a great show which motivated each & every FEI employee. In all it was a complete team work and everybody contributed very effectively for the success of the meet. We @ FEI owe a great deal to ISA & appreciate their monumental efforts.

A nuclear power plant (nuclear power station) looks like a standard thermal power station with one exception. The heat source in the nuclear power plant is a nuclear reactor. As is typical in all conventional thermal power sta-tions the heat is used to generate steam which drives a steam turbine connected to a genera-tor which produces electricity.

The layout of nuclear power plants comprises two major parts: The nuclear (reactor) island and the conventional (turbine) island. The nu-clear island is the heart of the nuclear pow-er plant. On the other hand the conventional (turbine) island houses the key component which extracts thermal energy from pressur-ized steam and converts it into electrical en-ergy.

We are happy to share the Certificate of Gama Radiation for mild area in conventional island for radiation up-to 18 Krad. Other certificates are on the anvil & we will have the full range by 31st March 2018.
