Event Sign-ups (No-Bid Purchases)

Event sign-ups are sold for a fixed price and include parties, teacher events, and other items. To purchase an event sign-up, simply enter your bidder number and name on the bid sheet for the appropriate number of tickets. Please note that an event sign-up can be per individual, per family or per couple. Purchasing continues until all slots are filled. Waitlists may be started along the bottom of a bid sheet if a party or event fills up and there is still demand for the item. Donors will be consulted and will make the final decision whether to include bid numbers on the waitlist. Bid numbers on the waitlist will not be charged unless the donor authorizes additional guests. Adding your bid number to a waitlist does not guarantee that you will win a ticket to the party or event.

Proxy Bidding

If you are unable to attend the auction, but want to bid on an item, please ask a friend to bid for you. Please remember that if someone successfully bids on an item for you, that person is responsible for paying for the item. A bid constitutes a binding agreement to buy the specified item, regardless of the intended buyer. If you bid for someone who is not attending the auction, you must use your own bidder number and are responsible for paying for all successful bids.

A bid constitutes a binding agreement to buy the specified item, regardless of the intended buyer. If you purchase tickets to a no-bid party or event for someone else, enter your bidder number and name on the bid sheet and note in parentheses the name of the intended guest so that the party host may send them the invitation.

When you arrive at the auction, check in at the registration table and you will receive a bidder number. Invoices will be sent home the week after the auction for your review and payment via Google check-out on the Covington School website. If you do not wish to use Google check-out, you may pay by check (payable to Covington PTA). Payments are due by April 9th, 2011. Credit card payments will not be accepted other than via Google check-out. There will be no check-out on the night of the auction.

Silent Auction

Bidding starts at 6:00pm. To bid, enter your bidder number and the amount of your bid on the bid sheet. A bid constitutes a binding agreement to buy the specified item. Once a bid is entered, it may not be removed. All bids must start with the minimum amount indicated on the bid sheet and each bid increase must meet the minimum increment stated. Bidding must stop when the section is declared closed. Once a section closes, no additional bids will be accepted. The highest bid at closing constitutes the winning bid. At the close of each section, an auction volunteer will circle the winning bid number and leave a copy of the bid sheet for general reference. Please do not remove the items or bid sheets from the table. There will be no check-out at the end of the evening. If you need to review your invoice on auction night, please proceed to data entry area starting at 9:30pm. Please take home all your winning items that were on display at silent auction. All certificates and gift cards will be sent to you with the invoices after the auction. Any bid listed without a bid number, or which is illegible, or which does not exceed the previous bid by the minimum increment will be considered invalid. An authorized auction volunteer shall have the sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder.

The live auctioneer is bonded and licensed by the state of California and, as such, all bids recognized by him are legally binding.

Payment and Receipt

There will be no check-out on the night of the auction. Invoices will be sent home the week after the auction for your review and payment via Google check-out on the Covington School website. If you do not wish to use Google check-out, you may pay by check (payable to Covington PTA). Credit card payments will not be accepted other than via Google check-out. If you need to review your invoice on auction night, please proceed to the data entry area starting at 9:30pm. The Covington PTA cannot guarantee any of the purchases made at the auction. Please take home all your winning items that were on display at silent auction. All certificates and gift cards (which are not on display) will be sent to you with the invoices. The Covington PTA is not responsible for items not claimed on auction night.

Auction items

Generous parents and community members have donated the items available for purchase at the auction. We have attempted to describe these items correctly. We apologize for any errors, changes, or omissions. If there is an item that you are serious about buying, we suggest that you contact the donor prior to the event to confirm conditions and availability. All items are sold “as is”. Auction purchases are tax deductible to the extent that the amount paid exceeds the fair market value at retail on the item(s) or service(s) received. Thank you to our

terrific teacher,

Mrs. Pinder

Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. We appreciate all that you do for our class -- from teaching African history, to the periodic tables, to persuasive writing, to letting us experience what life was like as a Colonial American.

YOU ROCK!

We couldn’t ask for a better teacher!

With love and appreciation,
