UNIT 2: SCHOOL TALKS-LESSON 3-LISTENING

Time: 45’

I. Goal- Students will increase their listening, speaking, reading and writing

skill through conversations in the lesson.II. Objectives1. Terminal objectives- Students will develop predictable skill what will happen and order

some picture correctly.2. Enabling objectives- Students will comprehend some simple conversation played on

tape recorder.- In the conversations, students will identify who the participants

are, what they are going to do, and when.- Students will comprehend and procedure necessary vocabulary

for this topic.- Students will successfully listen and understand information

about school.III. Materials and equipment- Tape recorder with taped conversation.- Pictures showing every kind of activities to talk about.- Textbook.- A poster.

- Asks some questions about their activities at school, at home or other outdoor activities

Pre-listening : (5 minutes)

- Asks students (Sts) to work in pair to read and match the question in column A with the response in B.

- Go around and remark.

- Asks Sts to answer and check their answers.

-Asks each pair to work in role.

-Asks some pair to stand up and role.

While-listening: (25 minutes)

Task 1: Asks students to listen to four conversations and match them with pictures.

- Asks students to look at the pictures and answer questions:

+ How many people in picture a, b, c, d?

- Listen and answer

- Work in pairs.

-Give and check answers.

- Each pair works in role. Example:

A: What subjects are you taking this semester?

B: I’m taking Maths.

- Look at the pictures and answer teacher

+ Where are they in?

+ Can you guess what are they talking about?

-Asks students to listen to four situations for three times and match each situation with each picture.

- Sticks picture a, b, c, d on board, asks 4 students to go to the board and give answers.

-Asks other students to give answer.

-Let students listen again and check answer.

Task 2: Asks students to listen again and answer the questions:

1. What subject is Lan taking this semester?

2. Whose class is Lan in?3. Where is Nam now?4. How long does Son plan to stay in

Nha Trang?5. Does Hoa travel with her friend?

- Lets students read the questions first and listen again 2 times and asks them to discuss in groups to answer the questions.

- Listen to each group and remark.

- Checks answer.

- Asks students to work in pair to
