Designing for deflection Designed a structure to be laser cut out of acrylic. The design was created in Solidworks, with analysis performed using Solidworks FEA. The goal was for the structure to be as light as possible while deflecting a specific distance when loaded using an Instron machine. Sterling engine car Utilizing a budget of 20 dollars, multiple iterations of sterling engines were made to power a car made out of a Kinex kit. Comparing the slide slip of a Lark and CFJ Designed and executed a procedure to acquire photos and videos of boats side slipping. Matlab was then used to process images of boats and use logic functions to determine if a boat had slipped sideways. This sideslip was quantified for comparative purposes.
