Andy Gibbins is Senior Consultant with Petroskills John M. Campbell and based in Dubai. He is a senior consultant, specialising in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals industry and spent over 20 years with Shell and NOVA Chemicals. He has held a number of technical, project, shift management, operations management and site management positions.

Andy graduated from the University of Bradford in UK with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree in 1986. He qualified as a Chartered Engineer with The UK Engineering Council in 1994. Andy is a member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. Andy is a highly experienced trainer, with substantial experience of Process Safety Management and has had overall responsibility for implementation of PSM for operational sites and has been involved in several PSM consultancy projects.

Workshop Description

Effective Process Safety Management is fundamentally important in gas processing operations. There have been very many high-profile incidents, such as Bhopal, Texas City and Piper Alpha, resulting in fatalities and significant financial losses, which have resulted directly from poor Process Safety Management practices. This workshop will familiarise key staff with the key elements of process safety and how to ensure that all are in place and working effectively, in order to minimize risk of major incidents.
