Specific Aim:

To develop an online library of prompting tasks using a standardized XML protocol for task-based prompting to facilitate sharing and reuse of instructional media for use across multiple platforms and programs. Initially, the project will further development of the XML protocol and build the framework for the task repository, develop a cross-platform application for creating instructional content according to the XML protocol, followed by an effort to promote creation of tasks to populate the online repository with instructional media content templates for use in home, educational, and vocational environments.

Research & Development Activities:

• Development/ Finalization of the XML prompting protocol• Completion of AIMS Task Builder software application: Version 1.0 release, May 2005• Development of resources to facilitate communication and collaboration with Content Users, Content Developers and Technology Developers• Design and development of Shared Task Repository web site• Development/Acquisition of content for Shared Task Repository• Design and development of AIMS Task Builder software application

Recent Accomplishments:

• Completion of infrastructure and Task Builder interface for uploading Task content to repository• Ongoing enhancement of AIMS user web site (www.aimsxml.com) to facilitate contributions to XML repository • Development of repository registration and login utilities• Development of directory structure for repository• Development of “seed” Tasks for repository• Added features to Task Builder application
