In 2006, at its 6th session, the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) agreed on four (4) shared Global Objectives on Forests, providing clear guidance on the future work of the international arrangement on forests.

for the effective protection, development, occupancy management, and conservation of forestlands including critical watersheds.
• Collaborates with international and local development organizations in the implementation of forestry development programs.

MAJOR PROGRAMSNATIONAL GREENING PROGRAMNGP aims to plant 1.5 Billion trees in 1.5 million hectares of public lands for six (6) years starting 2011 to 2016.

“Bringing together agencies, efforts and people.”FOREST PROTECTION PROGRAMForest Protection Program’s ultimate goal is to effectively protect the country’s forests from further destruction°radationbychoosingvariedmenuof strategies and menu of activities as options for wherever and wheneverare applicable to the DENR FieldOfficesinprotectingourforestsandforestland&establishedNGPsites.Menu of Activities:Menu 1. Full logistic and material support (i.e CCTV, radio communication system).
Menu 2. Improvement of infrastructures, provision of institutional support in investigation and prosecution of forestry cases.
Menu 3. Active collaboration and involvement of forest communities and other stakeholders.
Menu 4. UndertakecapacitybuildingforForestProtectionOfficers.
Menu 5. Sustain a well-planned Information, Education and Communications (IEC) campaign.
Menu 6.Consistent apprehension and mandatory administrative adjudication.
Menu 7.Effective Forest Fire, Pest and Disease Management measures.
Menu 8.Pursue Sustainable Forest Management.
SPECIAL PROJECTSFORESTLAND MANAGEMENT PROJECT
FMP is a ten-year DENR-JICA Project that aims to strengthen forestland management in three (3) critical river basins through the implementation of collaborative&comprehensiveCommunity-basedForest Management strategies.
Project locations:- Upper Magat and Cagayan River Basin- Pampanga River Basin- Jalaur River Basin
INTEGRATED NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT PROJECT
INREMP will address unsustainable watershed management in four priority river basins with particular focus on indigenous peoples and resource-poor communities to reduce and reverse degradation of watersheds and associated environment services caused by forest denudation and unsustainable farming practices. It provides incentives to local communities,LGUs&theDENRforimprovingnaturalresource management by generating sufficient &tangibleeconomicbenefits.Project locations:- Chico River Basin- Wahig Inabanga River Basin- Lake Lanao River Basin- Upper Bukidnon River Basin
