Awards will be presented for each category - All are entitled:

“AWARD OF EXCELLENCE”

There will be one (1) “PROJECT OF THE YEAR”

There is a Contractor Entry Form (copy attached) to be used for submission of projects for consideration by the Awards Committee. Each project submitted will have a fee of $250 with a limit of 3 projects per company. All entries MUST be accompanied by the fee and a computer* disk presentation with at least I0 photos of each project submitted to be considered.

* Committee will accept PowerPoint Presentations.

JUDGING CRITERIAAll Judging will be done on a scale of one (1) to ten (10) with one being Low and Ten being High.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the FWCCA Awards of Excellence competition is to recognize the outstanding projects built by the CONTRACTOR MEMBERS of FWCCA. Such recognition will bring about a greater community and industry awareness of the quality and craftsmanship of work produced by FWCCA members and their employees.

ELIGIBILITY: If you are a current paid member of the Florida Walls and Ceilings Contractors Association, you are eligible to submit your entries. Entries must originate from a FWCCA member. Questions concerning eligibility should be directed to the FWCCA Executive Vice President.

RECOGNITION OF WINNERS: All Award winners will be recognized at the Association’s Annual Convention with the date and time announced well in advance.

AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE: Up to three (3) construction projects in each category will be eligible for an Award of Excellence. The awards ceremony will feature a presentation of the award winners.

PROJECT OF THE YEAR: A single project submitted by a FWCCA member which best exemplifies the contributions of quality construction to the Florida Wall and Ceiling Industry will be selected as the Project of the Year. This project will be recognized at the Annual Convention.

All entries must be submitted in a three-ring binder.

DESCRIPTION: Attach a description of the project (maximum of three pages) including a detailed scope of work done by your company. Responses should include products used and length of project. Be sure to include major supplier and a one paragraph description of the project that will be published in the FWCCA Newsletter and statewide press releases.

NARRATIVE: Why is this project special? What qualifies it for an Award? Describe innovative programs relating to personnel management, quality control, scheduling, value engineering, dollar value, special obstacles over come, degree of difficulty in completing project, extenuating circumstances, etc. Maximum of 4 pages.

SAFETY: No project with a safety-related fatality can receive consideration for an Award of Excellence.

PHOTOGRAPHS: At least ten (10), but not more than fifteen (15) photographs should be included. Do not submit photos larger than 8 “x 10”. All photos must be labeled with project name, company name, entry category and a brief description of what the photograph represents. Also... please include a digital copy of your photos on a CD. High resolution images are preferred as follows: High resolution jpeg or tiff file.

REFERENCES: Endorsements, third-party comments, owner’s letter, etc.

MISCELLANEOUS: Supporting material such as diagrams and other graphics, press and promotion. (Maximum of 5 pages)

RULES OF ENTRY1 Registration fee -There will be a $250.00 registration fee per

project with a limit of three (3) project submissions per member company.

2 Members may enter more than one category.

3 The project entered must be completed (i.e., Certificate of Occupancy issued)

4 Entries must be received at the Association’s office no later than May. Absolutely NO exceptions will be made to this deadline.

5 All accepted entries become the property of FWCCA and may be used for promotional purposes.

6 Each entry form, or a copy, must be completed and returned with the registration fee. The Awards Committee reserves the right to re-categorize and/or disqualify any entry for cause with proper notification.

7 The Awards committee has established judging criteria. Selection of judges is at the Discretion of the Awards Committee and the results of the scoring of individual projects will remain confidential. The decision of the Awards Committee regarding criteria, selection of judges, classification of projects and selection of winning projects is final.
