1 WHY DO WE HAVE THIS DOCUMENT This document describes the educational workshop offered by Global-Mark Pty Ltd to clients seeking learn about how to comply with or work within the framework of AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS18001. 2 OVERVIEW Increasingly businesses today need to demonstrate sound business management including concern for the Health and Safety, which is many States and Territories can related to Directors liabilities. A Health and Safety Management System provides the framework for meeting these challenges and adds value to your operations and business. Standards such as AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS 18001 can be used as a model for implementing such a system.

The Standards offer a flexible framework and are applicable to businesses of any size. Using this practical tool will help your business examine the areas where hazards, risks and controls are necessary.

The systematic approach of the Standards may lead to benefits including reduced costs and savings in as well as improving your business image with customers, suppliers and the general public.

This one day course is designed to assist your managers (including those without a background in OHS) develop good OHS management practice using a systems approach.

3 OBJECTIVES At the end of the course you will have a good understanding of:

� AS/NZS 4801 background and history;

� OHS Management System Principles and requirements;

� OHS definitions;

� The requirements of the standards, and their structures structure;

� Hazards identification

� Risk Management

� Documentation needed to run an OHS management system; and

� Tools for continuous improvement.

This Global-Mark workshop can be run in house: this provides organisations and managers the opportunity to adapt the questions (and to an extent the exercises) to their conditions and needs. Global-Mark cannot provide any specific advice, but will answer questions based on its experience and knowledge of the requirements.

4 WORKSHOP FEES In-house Course

The workshop can be run in-house for a fee of $4,000 including GST (up to 12 attendees), 1-day format.

To run the course we will need:

� A training room (U-shape set up is less formal)

� Whiteboard

� Projector screen

Public Courses (1 Day format)

The workshop fees, which are payable in advance of the course, are:

� Single participant: $800 incl GST

� 2 or more participants: 10% Discount

Typically the courses are run from 9:00am to 4:00pm, with 15 minute breaks at 10:30am for Morning Tea, and 2:30pm for Afternoon Tea. A 40-minute lunch break has also been planned.

5 ASSESSMENT METHOD The assessment methods will include role plays, student manual assessment, participation during the class, written questions and presenters and peer observations (which can include third parties).

The assessment sections are clearly marked in the workbooks and students will be notified during the class.

6 ADDITIONAL SUPPORT Students are encouraged to notify Learning Solutions of any language, literacy and numeracy skills support requirement and disability support requirements during the application process so that any reasonable adjustments can be made.

Our presenters remain available for up to 6 weeks after the course, by email or telephone.
