4-H is a youth organization committed to building outstanding leaders with marketable skills to succeed in today’sglobal society. 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caringadults. The four H's represent the idea of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. These are the values members workon through fun and engaging programs.
Head - Managing, Thinking Heart - Relating, Caring Hands - Giving, Working Health - Being, Living
4-H’ers, regardless of their background, socio-economic status, race or gender, benefit from their participation inKentucky 4-H. Positive youth development studies have affirmed that compared to other youth, young peopleinvolved in 4-H are: • Four times more likely to contribute to their communities. • Two times more likely to be civically active. • Two times more likely to make healthier lifestyle choices. • Two times more likely to participate in Science, Engineering and Computer Technology programs during out-of-school time. • 4-H girls are two times more likely (Grade 10) and nearly three times more likely (Grade 12) to take part inscience programs compared to girls in other out-of-school time activities.

Cooperative Extension Service
I am excited that you have an interest in 4-H Clubs and Programs. My
primary focus as the 4-H Youth Development Agent is to provide fun,
educational programming to the youth in our county. I have been able to
do programming in the schools, which has provided me another avenue to
reach the youth in our community. Through school programming they are
getting a glimpse of what 4-H is, which allows me to promote some of our
other exciting activities. It also gives me the opportunity to talk to the kids
and get them excited about 4-H Camp!
I was born and raised in Grayson County and am proud to work and
raise my family in the community I grew up in. I take a great pride in
providing top quality programs for our youth, because I know as a parent I
want the best for my children and as an agent, I want the best for your
children! I hope you take the time to fill out the enrollment form located at
the back of this booklet and bring it back to us. I look forward to having
your youth involved in our program!
