THE NEW HELI APPEAL
Cornwall Air Ambulance strives to reach everyone in need and care for them in the most effective way, but this is not always possible when the time to save lives is so very short.
There are people who need our help but we cannot reach due to the limitations of the ageing MD902 helicopter we operate and the limited equipment it can carry.
We know we can save more time and save more lives by purchasing a next generation helicopter that is faster, can fly further, and is more powerful.
That helicopter is the AW169. It will provide our highly skilled aircrew of critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots with the technologically advanced features and equipment they need to truly exploit their lifesaving skills.
The AW169 will increase the number of missions Cornwall Air Ambulance can fly by increasing the amount of time the helicopter is online and available to respond to emergencies.
The extra fuel capacity will enable the crew to fly straight from one patient to the next without stopping to refuel, and the extra power will allow more lifesaving equipment to be carried.
The AW169 will also protect the future of the charity financially as ownership provides improved financial security as opposed to the current expensive leasing arrangement.
But above all else, this next generation helicopter will become an ‘A&E for the skies’. The crew will be able to recreate a hospital emergency department in the back of the aircraft, providing patients with the treatment they need at the scene quickly, saving precious minutes that really do matter.

This information pack should help to answer any questions you might have about your fundraising but if you have any other queries, please get in touch.
Hosting a Great Cornish Cream Tea in aid of the New Heli Appeal is a great way of getting everyone together to have fun in aid of a great cause. It’s also really easy, as this pack will provide you with all of the marketing materials you may need to promote your event. We can also supply you with collection buckets/jars if you need them.
It doesn’t matter how much you raise – a penny from many is better than a pound from a few!
1. PICK A DATE AND TIMEYour Great Cornish Cream does not have to be on National Cream Tea Day - pick a date that suits you.
2. FIND A VENUEThis could be at your home, a local club, your workplace or even your child's school.
3. GET SOME HELPERSEverything is easier with a helping hand – so see if you can get some friends to join in running the event.
4. SEND OUT INVITATIONS/ADVERTISE THE EVENT
There are posters and invitations in the pack for you to download and print out, but email and social media are other great ways to invite people.
5. PREPARE EVERYTHING FOR THE BIG DAY
There is a recipe card if you want to make your own scones and bunting to help with decorating your venue.
6. RAISE MONEYHave a suggested donation in mind for your cream tea and ensure you have a way to collect donations. There are downloadble labels for your collection tin and a text to donate poster in case guests turn up without cash.
7. HAVE FUNFundraising is supposed to be fun, so no matter what, just enjoy your event.
8. THANK GUESTSThank guests after the event and let them know how much was raised on the day.

Cheques can be sent by post to: Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, Trevithick Downs, Newquay, TR8 4DY. Please make cheques payable to Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.
You can pop in to see us at our charity office in Newquay and hand cash over in person.
If you’ve fundraised on JustGiving, the money comes to us automatically so you don’t need to do anything.
You can pay by BACS transfer but please remember to make the payment reference clear so we know the money is for the Heli Appeal:

HOW TO GET MONEY TO USThere are several ways you can get your fundraising money to us.
Whichever way you choose, please make sure we know it is from your Great Cornish Cream Tea event.
WHAT'S IN THIS PACK?Having Cornwall Air Ambulance branding at your Cream Tea event will let people know who you’re raising money for and where their donations will go.
This pack should contain all of the marketing materials you need to promote and run your event, including:
• Poster template to advertise the details of your event
• Invitations
• Recipe cards
• Bunting
• Labels
• 'Donate from your mobile' poster to enable those without cash to still donate
• Information sheet to display at the event, showing the missions carried out by Cornwall Air Ambulance
• Post-event thank you poster to show how much you raised.
However, if there is anything that you need, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Collection jars are available on request.
