Lamar University was a great experience for me during my undergrad. I developed great relationships with my professors

and made many close friends. With all that in mind and the high success that LU’s Accounting program has had, it was an easy decision for me to choose Lamar to finish my graduate degree.

Lamar has a high passing rate for students taking the CPA exams. They also prepare you to take two of the CPA exams during the Master’s Degree program. This is an awesome opportunity that

many other schools don’t offer.

By getting involved with CoB and exploring all to their resources, I have had the opportunity to go on Career Trips where we visited big corporate offices. Also, I was invited to San Antonio, Texas to

receive the Texas Business Hall of Fame Scholarship.

Personally, I’ve had the chance to evaluate and treat a wide variety of clients in the clinic setting on campus, at local school districts, at off-site facilities, and as of recently via Zoom for teletherapy.

I have gained experience in working with clients who have language disorders, articulation disorders, phonological disorders,

aphasia, voice disorders, dementia, use AAC, and clients who are transitioning. The supervisors and professors are incredibly supportive and accessible. They are always willing to provide advice or suggestions, which is something that is so crucial to

professional and clinical skill development in the field of SLP. I was offered a position as an extern in speech-language pathology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston where I will be working

with Head and Neck Cancer patients in the fall of 2020.
