Organisers Gabriel and Skye Waterford are leaving town for the east coast , but will hold one last music night at the Olive Pink Botanic Garden. Local and nationally- known acts have played at the garden - including Katie Noonan , Neil Murray, Elsie Lange, vari- ous Waterfords and many more . Gabe said : "We were contemplating what to do and how to say goodbye to every- body. "When you work in hos- pitality, you get to know a lot of people and it gets hard to track everyone down. " This last Music in the Garden is a nice way for us to say goodbye. " There have been a lot of people who have played at the gardens over the years and there 's an open invitation to anybody who has played or wanted to play to come up and do a couple of songs. "It has been a real hub for musIcIans and we wanted to finish it off like that." Gabe said the invitation had gone out to Eden Baxter, Elsie Lange, M'Lis Scott and many others. He said: "We 've done OD launches for a bunch of musos in town, including Fujimoto and the Setting Suns and M'Lis Scott. " This will be a coming to- gether of peopl e who have been involved in the cafe, even if the y were just customers who came along occas ionally. " It is the end of a ch a pter for us . I think I'd jus t turned 23 when I arrived in town with my partner Skye, so we've been here for a good part of our 20s. "There is some talk with the new owners that music might come back next year, but at this point there's no immedi- ate plan. " Gabe and his family are moving east coast and live on a farm for 12 months. The final Music in the Garden kicks off at 6pm to- night. Entr y is free and there will be food and drink avail- able. Also playing are; soul diva Catherine Satour, Final Notice, Last Minute Heroes Minority Sun and She 'Voli. ' Every band that enters au tomatic ally wi ns a goodie bag of strings and st raps f rom Emi e Ball. Th e win ning band will also get three mont hs fr ee me mb e rship on GigLaunch - an online database. The winner of the Australasian final, will win a trip overseas with airfares and accom- modation for the whole band to perform at the World Final with a first prize worth U S$100,OOO . IF you've never been to Music in the Garden, this is your last chance to enjoy the enchant­ing folk and acoustic music.

Organisers Gabriel and Skye Waterford are leaving town for the east coast, but will hold one last music night at the Olive Pink Botanic Garden.
