El Junco is a Lagoon located inside a small crater of an extinct volcano to the east of the Island. The name of the lagoon comes from a type of plant which is very common in the surrounding area. Frigate birds are often seen here washing the salt from their feathers as well as white-cheeked pintails and common gallinules.

We will then visit La Galapaguera at Cerro Colorado; this Breeding Center was built to improve the population of tortoises in this island. The Visitors Center shows important information on the tortoises and its natural history, there are as well trails where you can observe endemic flora of this island.

Located in the Pacific Ocean, 1000 km from the South American mainland, this Ecuadorean Archipelago is known as a Living Laboratory of Evolution, made of 14 major islands and more than 60 smaller islands and islets, is surrounded by its Marine Reserve, the world’s second largest.

The combination of converging marine currents, a volcanic geological structure and their oceanic isolation has resulted in this melting pot of unique species, found nowhere else on earth. REMARKS

Physical Health: Participants need to be in good physical health and condition to be able to enjoy a Galapagos tour. Irregular terrain walks, embarking / disembarking on slippery and wet lava rocks or yacht ladder are difficult if you have not exercised regularly before your trip. To fully enjoy a Galapagos adventure, we advise passengers to get into an exercise program for their own safety and enjoyment. If a passenger suffers from any medical condition, we advise him/her to consult a physician about joining a Galapagos Expedition.

Special Diets. If any passenger has special dietary requirements, we need to be advised by email to customers@planesturisticos.com at least 45 days before beginning of tour in order to try to comply with their requests, based on products availability at the destination.

Diving. Diving in the Galapagos Islands is advisable for very experienced divers only. Cold waters, strong currents and surge may be present. Passenger participation in water sports, snorkeling, skin diving, kayaking, etc., is made under their own responsibility.

Tour operators at destination reserves the right to alter itineraries and reverse the order of the visited places when deemed advisable. Also reserves the right to substitute itineraries, if deemed necessary ”i.e. force majeure as an alternative).
