Memorial House of AlexandruIoan Cuza

Memorial House of Alexandru IoanCuza is built on the former home of the chief magistrate of Galati, representing the family home of Alexander John Cuza.

In this building lived Alexandru Ioan Cuza (the first ruler of the Romanian Principalities) in the period from 1844 to 1859, he held the position as president of the County Judges and Parcalab Covurlui. In 1937 he founded the "Association Cuza Voda", which aimed, among other things, to restore the house and turn it into a museum. Catherine and Paul Pasadonation teachers constituted the core of the planned exhibitions.

Museum "Casa Cuza Voda" and the May 20, 2004, in a wing of the house, he opened permanent exhibition coins, medals, philately.

Visual Art Museum

Opened in 1967, Galati Visual Art Museum is the first museum of contemporary art in Romania and has been specially designed to present new trends of plastic twentieth century destination that keeps today.

The 400 works on display in the museum halls or in the park, outdoors, is a selection from a much wider heritage, often enriched with a virtual heritage artists affirm the past 50 years, temporary exhibition in the museum.

The museum contains a collection belonging to the interwar period: Pallady Petrascu, Stefan Dumitrescu, Tonitza Dărăscu and Lucian Grigorescu.Decorative arts and graphics are well represented in the museum halls and generally in its heritage.
