Our role as an industry leader in this area is to: (1) Identify the potential risks facing our clients (2) Analyze those risks in terms of potential frequency and severity (3) Review the appropriate risk control and financing mechanisms, including insurance, available to address these risks. Our expertise in the environmental services field, strong insurer relationships and coverage expertise enable us to provide environmental service clients with exceptional risk management and insurance support. Our specialization includes the following services: Development of Risk Profiles. Becoming aware of environmental exposures is the first step in the risk management process. Our staff assists clients with identifying exposures by preparing Risk Profiles. The profiles are structured to identify our client’s environmental exposures, including operational, disposal practices, property transactions, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, products, and/or formerly owned locations. Insurance program evaluation. Formal analysis and evaluation of current insurance programs, which identifies potential gaps in environmental coverage and newly developed coverage enhancements and/or policies that may broaden existing programs. • Design of innovative and cost-effective insurance solutions. We have experience and expertise in developing and designing everything from typical fixed-site pollution liability programs, contractor’s pollution liability (CPL) programs, combined CPL/ professional liability policies and remediation cost overrun programs to sophisticated blended-/finite-risk insurance programs. Risk management alternatives. Insurance is usually the first alternative considered, but it may not be the best. We can analyze, select and assist with the implementation of alternatives that minimize the adverse effects of environmental loss, such as non-insurance contractual risk transfer and self insurance programs. • Contract assistance. Review of lease agreements, construction contracts, service agreements, purchase orders, contracts of property sale, and material supply contracts as they relate to insurance issues to identify clauses that may have environmental and/or professional liability implications.
