Master PlanMsheireb Downtown Doha recognises the cultural and historic value of the existing spaces in the Msheireb area, and is reinterpreting its old forms to create a contemporary city.

The region’s largest covered public square, Barahat Msheireb will be a meeting point for visitors as well as residents, and will be active throughout the year with street entertainment as well as seasonal and community events. The square is anchored by the Cultural Forum to the east and the world renowned Mandarin Oriental hotel to the west.

The Heritage quarter features four historic houses that will are restored and turned into Msheireb Museums, including a traditional adobe courtyard house known as the Mohammed bin Jassim House – originally the house of the son of the founder of modern Qatar.

Adjacent to the Heritage quarter is the prestigious Diwan Amiri quarter that lies opposite to Qatar’s seat of government, the Amiri Diwan. Serving as the key civic and administration area, it comprises the Diwan Annexe, Amiri Guard building and Qatar National Archive.

Towards the south lies Sikkat Wadi Msheireb - the longest pedestrian street within the project, a medical centre, community mosques and the prestigious five star hotels: Al Wadi hotel by MGallery and Park Hyatt Hotel.

Along the west, Sahat Al Nakheel features the main metro hub in Doha as well as a boutique business hotel and a breathtaking fountain set amidst retail offerings and performance areas, thereby providing all the elements required to create a vibrant lifestyle.

The Galleria is an enclosed air conditioned shopping mall, with 42,943sqm of retail space spread across over 100 stores. Spanning four levels, it is anchored by a mega flagship unit, supermarket, cinema and a dedicated children’s edutainment zone. Featuring a cluster of six buildings across four levels of shopping, leisure and entertainment options, the product offering has been customised to meet the needs of the local community, visitors, office workers and international travellers alike.

The west wing of the Galleria contains offices and residences above four levels of shopping. At its core lies an array of entertainment offerings – featuring a premier cinema and children’s edutainment zone, along with a dedicated food court.

Representing almost half of the total retail offering within the project, the Galleria will act as the retail anchor of Msheireb Downtown Doha.

The Galleria will add a unique flavour to the retail offering in Doha, with visual cues that are distinctively rooted in Qatar’s heritage and tradition, setting it apart from other shopping

destinations in the city. Architecturally, the Galleria’s overarching roof provides a point of dramatic impact. Accentuating its iconic design, the Galleria extensively uses natural light through the many skylights dotting its roof.

Its unique location also makes the Galleria highly visible from pedestrian and driving routes. Retailers within the Galleria will receive added exposure by facing high streets and key pedestrian routes. Set to become the most visited retail destination within the city, the Galleria is located amidst luxury hotels, upscale apartments, restaurants, coffee shops and entertainment offerings. It also serves as an important link connecting the public square, Barahat Msheireb and the Cultural Forum to the pedestrian friendly Sikkat Wadi Msheireb.

Provisions have been put into place to include over 1,800 car parking spaces spread across multiple underground levels. Accessibility is given keen consideration with multiple access points provided above and below ground linking the Galleria to arterial streets within the project and continued access to the greater city.
