The Broken Butterfly plays a significant part in the brother’s story. Their father placed a bet on a horse names Papillion (French for Butterfly) which won them the money to be able to go travelling, it was also the book that Rob had read the Christmas Day of the Tsunami.

After building a brand from their Bedroom in Brixton, Rob & Paul scaled up to moving their office to a Kitchen in Clapham, after outgrowing their kitchen tabletops their decided to make the leap and invest in their first Gandys HQ in Southfields, just a stones throw from Wimbledon Tennis Grounds. This collection Marks the first of many more to come HQ for Gandys.

PHOTOGRAPHYWhen Gandys was first founded back in 2011 the Brothers were very creative with their product photography, using only their iPhones and white bath as a backdrop they managed to take some pretty decent photographs, no one could tell the difference. This Design celebrates where they have come from.

HISSY FIT

Growing up in India provided them with many dangers one being the infamous snake. Having spent most of their childhood avoiding the dangerous creatures, gave the brothers a form of respect for the creature. One memory that sticks out in their mind is when the broth-ers and their father saw one slithers under the sofa they were sat on in their home in India, not something your able to witness in the UK that’s for sure.

Flamingos can be found around the worlds from the Caribbean and South America to Africa, The Middle East and Europe, making it a well travelled bird. Having seen the Flamingos inhabit the countries they have stayed in around the world the Flamingo soon became one of the Brothers favourites.

Having grown up with 3 sisters the Brothers soon realized the importance of the added extra of glitter and shimmer. One day in the Gandys HQ the girls of the office were doing their nails in time for a film crew visiting when the idea hit to paint one of the flip-flops with glittery nail varnish, This was a huge success and has become of the best sellers to date.
