Everything you need to know about gardening

Learning the hard way – through trial and error, and frequent disappointments – is one way of learning to garden. But there are far quicker and easier ways of doing it. This course covers everything an enthusiastic gardening hobbyist, garden service entrepreneur or nursery assistant needs to know in order to be successful.

Gardening and Horticulture has been entirely designed and authored in South Africa, so it deals with gardening the way you know it. You will learn to understand the way plants grow, and how to optimise conditions for all types of garden plants. Special sections deal with fl owers, ornamentals, pot plants and bulbs. You will become skilled at laying out gardens, irrigation, identifying nutrients needed by your garden, modifying soil types and combating pests and diseases.
