What we normally term as GasConditioning Skid does two jobs – mainlycleaning and conditioning:-• Cleaning covers particulate , slug
removal and condensate removal (ifcan not be avoided)
• Conditioning covers pressure increase /reduction , providing superheat , dewpoint depression.
• Then the skids are also equipped withflow measurement apparatus. Sometimes odorization is also added.
This means a complete gas streamsimulation is a must with the knowledge ofphase envelope , condensation of eachcomponent and the hydrate formationtemperature.
We build them for all the high calorificvalue gases including coke oven gas andthe approaches are different. The nextparagraphs will mostly handle theconcepts used for natural gas.
Dry Gas – Simple particulate filter
Here the gas is dry and non condensing.Pressure is same as turbine inlet.Turndown is limited and a particulate filteror filter separator is recommended beforethe turbine. Dry Gas with Higher Pressure, Low Dew
Point
Here the gas is at a higher pressure.

Turndown is limited and a particulate filteror a filter separator is recommended.
Dry Gas with Higher Pressure , Very LowDew Point
Gas dew point is lower than gas temp. evenafter pressure reduction. Turndown islimited and a particulate filter or filterseparator is recommended before theturbine.
Condensing Gas , Higher Pressure
Condensing Gas , Lower Pressure thanTurbine Inlet.
The above schemes are mostly for gas turbineinlet with superheat. For application wheresuperheat is not acceptable we use Dew PointDepression System.
