Donotpermitacidic,causticorabrasivefluidstobepumpedthroughsystem. Periodicallycleandetergentinletscreen.Thiswillensureproperflowofwatertothepump. Highmineralcontentinwatermayadverselyaffectyourmachineandmayrequiretheuseofawatersoftenertoensureproperoperation. NEVERrunthepumpdryunderanycircumtances.Doingsowillcauseextemedamagetothepump.

HEAT EXCHANGER COIl MAINTENANCE Hardwaterconditionsmayeventuallycausecloggingintheheatexchangercoilifleftunattended.Scaledepositswillcompromisetheheatingefficiencyandproduceanunsafeconditionovertime.Itmaybenecessarytodescalecoil. Scalebuildupfromcertaindetergentsmayeventuallycloguptheheatexchangercoilcausinganunsafecondition.Useonlyrecommendeddetergentsforbettercleaningefficiency.

Blackcarbondepositsthatcollectontheoutsidewalloftheheatexchangercoilmaybearesultofusingapoorgradeoffuelorimproperburneroperation.Heatingfuelshouldbevoidofwaterandsedimentstoeliminatethepossibilityofsootingandcompromisingtheefficiencyofthecoil.

ENGINE MAINTENANCE

Everytime(beforestart): Checkoillevel.

First8hours: ChangeoilwithSAE30W High-Detergent Oil.

Every25hours: Changeoilifoperatingunderheavyloadorhighambienttemperature. Serviceaircleanerpre-cleaner.

Every50hours: Changeoil.Cleanandinspectsparkarresterifequipped.

Every100hours: Serviceaircleanercartridge,replaceoilfilter(ifequipped), Cleanoilcooler(ifequipped),Cleancoolingsystem.

WINTERIZING

Non-floatTankMachines:Toprotectthemachinefromfreezingtemperatureswhilestoringortransporting,connectshortlengthofgardenhose(approximately3ft.)towaterinletconnectiononmachine.Removethepressurenozzlefromthewandandinserttheshortgardenhoseendintoacontainerofantifreeze.Placethewandintotheantifreezecontainerandstartenginerunningmachineuntilantifreezeappearsfromtheendofthewand.Turnengine“OFF”andreplacepressurenozzle.Coiluphoseandmovemachinetostoragearea.

ElECTROdE sETTINGsInspectionofallwires,springcontactsandelectrodesshouldbedoneperiodically.

OIl buRNER AIR bANd AdjusTMENTRAMTEQ®setsoilburnersatsealevel.AirbandsmayneedadjustmentathigherelevationstooffereCHancedperformanceoftheburnerandextendedlifeofthemachine.

Adjustmentofburnerisdonewithpumpmotorandthermostatset tomaximum.Loosen lockingscrewonairband, thenclosebanduntilblacksmokeventsupexhaustvent.Takecarefulnoteof air bandpositionwhenblacksmoke is first noticed. Slowlyopenairbanduntilwhitesmokevents,thenturnairbandhalfwayback to where black smoke was first noted. Tighten air bandlockingscrew.whenproperlyset,theunitshouldNOThaveeither"black"smokeor"white"smokeduringoperation.

IF  blACK  OR  WHITE  sMOKE  vENTs  FROM  EXHAusT PORT uPON sTARTING EQuIPMENT, dIsCONTINuE usE ANd AdjusT AIR bANds bEFORE REsTARTING.

PUMP MAINTENANCE Fillcrankcasetodotonoilgaugewindowperspecificationswiththespecificoilcreatedbythepumpmanufacturer(i.e.General Pump Oil).Ensuretherightoilforspecificpumpasitmayvary. Changeoilafter25 Hour Break-in Period. ChangeoileveryThree Months or at 100 Hour Intervals thereafter.

UNLOADER ADJUSTMENT

AllRAMTEQmachineshavetheunloadercorrectlysetatthethefactory.Settinganunloaderisadifficultjobwithouttheproperequipmentandtraining.Shouldtheneedarisetochangetheunloadersettings,pleasecontactyourlocaldistributor.

LOCATION GUIDELINES Locatethemachineonasolidandlevelsurfacesothatengineandpumpcrankcaseoillubricatecomponentsproperly.Avoidareaswherewatercanbuildupintheworkingarea.Possibleinjurycanoccurcausedbythesurfacebecomingslipperyfromwaterbuildup. Locatethemachineinawell-ventilatedareaandawayfromflammablematerialsorfumes.Besureventilationwarningsareobserved.Keeppressurewasheratleast18”awayfromflamablematerials. Locatethemachinesotheoperatorhaseasyaccesstothejetter/pressurewasheranditscontrols.Locatethemachinesothatitisprotectedfromexternaldamage. Topreventdamageandexcessivehosewear,locatetheunitsothatthehosedoesnotcrosstrafficareas.

STARTING THE MACHINEFollowing the steps below will insure successful operation: Readthismanualcompletelybeforeattemptingtostartthemachine. Checkthefueltankandfillwithagoodgradeofgasoline(87octaneminimum)forgasenginesandahighqualitydieselfuelfordieselengines. ChecktheengineoillevelandfillwithSAE30weighthigh-detergentoil. CheckthepumpoillevelandfillwithSAE30wnon-detergentoilifneeded. Checkwatertanktoensureadequatelevelofwaterrequiredforthejob. Pulltriggerongununtilasteadystreamofwatercomesoutthenozzle.Thispurgesanyairinthesystem. SlidefuelswitchtotheRIGHTandslidechokeswitchtotheLEFT(closedposition). TurnON/OFFswitch(onengine)to“ON”. Openwaterflowtoreducebackpressureinpump.Backpressurecanoverpowerelectricstarter,preventingignition. TurnkeytostartgasengineandallowRPMtodevelop. Letenginewarmupforapproximately30secondsandslidechoketo“OPEN”position. Checkforleaksinthesystemandcycletriggerguntoinsurebypassisadjustedcorrectly.Repairanyleaksandcorrectunloaderadjustmentifneeded.Turnoffmachinebeforeattemptinganyrepairs. wARNING-Donotoperatemachinewithlessthan6"ofwaterinthetank.Doingsomaycausepumpdamage!

STOPPING THE MACHINE Turnengineto“OFF”. Pullguntriggertoreleasewaterpressurefromsystem. Disconnectwand&gunassembly. winduppressurehoseonhosereel.

CAUTION Alwayswearprotectivesafetygear,auchas,butnotlimitedto,raincoatorcoveralls,rubberboots,faceshieldorgoggles,glovesandhearingprotection. Donotrunthemachineformorethantwominuteswiththejetterwaterflowshutoff(by-passmode).Thiswilloverheatthejetterpumpandcouldcauseinjurytoyou. Donotrunhotwaterthruthispump.Hotwaterwilldamagethepump,andwillvoidthewarranty.

Ramteq Incorporated ("RAMTEQ") warrants that the Product you have purchased from RAMTEQ or from an Authorized RAMTEQ Reseller is free from defects in materials or workmanship under normal use for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase. This warranty extends only to you, the original Purchaser. It is not transfer-able to anyone who subsequently purchases the Products from you. This warranty specifically excludes expendable items, including but not limited to hoses, seals, nozzles and gunjets. RAMTEQ manufacturers warrant certain com-ponents of the Products for periods greater than one (1) year. MOTORS, GENERATORS, PUMPS, COILS, BURNERS AND ENGINES ARE WARRANTED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE MANUFACTURERS, AND SERVICED THROUGH THESE MANUFACTURERS' LOCAL AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTERS. Specific warranty details can be found on the indi-vidual manufacturers website. RAMTEQ CANNOT PROVIDE WARRANTY ON THESE ITEMS.

During the warranty period, RAMTEQ will repair or replace defective parts, at the option of RAMTEQ.

This limited warranty does not extend to any Product not purchased from RAMTEQ or from an Authorized RAMTEQ Reseller. This limited warranty also does not extend to any Product that has been damaged or rendered defective (a) as a result of accident, misuse or abuse; (b) by operation outside the specifications in the intended applications; (c) by the use of parts not sold or manufactured by RAMTEQ; (d) by the modification of the Product.
