Gas Turbine Applications

Acoustics India Private Limited is an ISO 9001 certified full service solution driven engineering company with a

manufacturing capability of manufacturing noise pollution control equipment since 1988. With a vast experience and a

clientele across disciplines, our range of products encompass Steam Vent Silencer, Acoustic enclosures for Gas turbines,

Steam turbines, Diesel generator noise control packages, Compressor noise control packages, Silencer for compressor/

fans/ blowers, Sound proof doors, Acoustic treatment for buildings / ducting / test facilities and design of complete noise

control packages, comprehensive noise survey and analysis.

The Gas Turbine Exhaust Silencers are designed to handle the maximum exhaust

flow rate of the Gas Turbine . AIPL has designed and supplied GT Exhaust Silencer

handling a flow rate of 19,64,160 kg/hr. The baffles are designed aerodynamically for

minimum pressure drop, restricting the pressure drop to 10mm wc. The baffles are

designed using stainless steel materials with perforated skin packed with mineral

fibers. Stainless steel wire mesh and Fiber Glass mat are provided for infill

protection. For high temperature applications, a combined layer of mineral fibers

and ceramic wool are used with stainless steel wire mesh and ceramic fiber mat for

infill protection. For large stack silencers, the acoustic baffles are pre-fabricated at

shop and erected at site inside the stack.

Towards this purpose, AIPL uses mounting brackets which are welded to the stack

and the baffles are inserted and positioned on the mounting bracket freely to allow

thermal expansion both in longitudinal direction as well as in vertical direction up to

40mm as per the thermal expansion requirement. The aerodynamically designed

splitters offer minimum resistance to the flow and we have designed and supplied

GT Exhaust Silencer

We design and manufacture air intake and exhaust system for Gas Turbines. The air intake system package consists of Air Intake Filter, Air Intake Silencer and Inlet Ducting. Designed, engineered and supplied as a complete Gas Turbine Exhaust system that consists of Expansion bellows, Elbow, Exhaust silencer, Exhaust stack and internal insulation of exhaust system with ceramic wool insulation as well as calcium silicate bricks.

The baffles are designed to comply with the requirement of acoustics and aerodynamics and also for mechanical and

structural integrity for life expectancy of 15 years or more. These baffles can also be designed as concentric annular

cylindrical splitters or rectangular splitters. We offer both hot stack as well as cold stack silencers behind Waste Heat

Recovery Boilers.

Ventilation System

Ventilation system is designed to restrict the temperature raise inside

the acoustic enclosure. The system is designed for a raise in

temperature up to 7 C over ambient temperature or as per the

customer’s requirement. The acoustic enclosures are designed

considering the following requirements: Easily dismantleable to

facilitate trouble free maintenance work, to ensure comfortable

ventilation, so that, the air temperature inside the enclosure is

maintained which would affect the performance of the equipment

The acoustic enclosure comprises of collapsible type acoustic wall and

roof panels assembled on bolted structure. The enclosure will be

provided with soundproof doors and sound proof glass windows in

adequate numbers. To take away the heat generated inside the

enclosure, forced ventilation package with ventilation exhaust blower,

ventilation intake silencer and ventilation exhaust silencer will be

provided. The openings that are required for piping, cables etc will be

acoustically sealed. Provisions for electrical and fire fighting systems

are also made.
