Dear All,
Would you please address a GT heat rate versus EOH curve for a sample machine?
Thanks in advance

Udhayakumar Venkataraman • It differs from OEM to OEM. Eg : GE gas turbines will have at 8K CI/16K CI/ 24KTI /--/---/48K as Major .. now based on the upgrades 8K CI is shifted to directly 24K as TI .. so every CI or TI or MI will bring back the Heat rate deterioration back to 95% and above but not to 100% of PG test results. It will be Hacksaw tooth pattern, similar to GT degradation curve. In GE EOH will termed as FFH ( Factored Fired Hours) , in MHI as EOH but every trip will lift around 400 EOH of operating hours, cost of maintenance is very high. Later part for information mentioned. We will discuss further .

MITESH BHATIA • GT heat rate will have more to do with unit loading and mode of operation (i.e. SC or CC) rather than operating hours coz the EOH could be higher but on part load resulting in higher heat rate. Heat rate basically is about the efficient usage of the heat input made available to the machine. Just to add to Mr. Venkatraman, the GE standard figures for CI, HGPI, MI are mentioned above which are considering usage of NG, deviations in fuel usage - Naphtha, HSD etc would lower the inspection duration (directly proportional to the maintenance factor). Every trip above 80% loading (which is considered equivalent to base load operation) is normally equal to six startups (& hence the EOH).
