The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. ofIndia (Tandon Committee), classified GITAM as category 1university among deemed to be universities in thecountry. GITAM is accredited by NAAC with A+ Grade in2017. Further, the UGC has accorded 12-B status to GITAM.GITAM has been accredited with ISO 9001:2015 for QualityManagement System. In 2018, UGC granted category 1graded autonomy to GITAM.

The Libraries in all the three campuses are equipped withreading rooms and reference sections. The Libraries havea rich collection of over 34 lakh books and e-journals,8494 national and international print journals. They areprovided with INFONET services which facilitate onlineaccess to e-books and journals.

GITAM has established an inhouse software developmentand information technology centre called the Centre forAdvanced Technology Solutions (CATS). GITAM provides aninternet capacity of 5.0 Gbps (5000 Mbps) along withWi-Fi facility making GITAM as one of the largest internetservice providers of its kind for a university environment.

The curriculum design of all the programs is aligned withthe vision, mission, objectives and quality policy of GITAM.The curriculum is developed, keeping in view, the local,regional, national and global developmental needs in orderto meet the ever changing demands of the industry,economy and society. The Choice Based Credit System(CBCS) was introduced based on UGC guidelines to enablestudents to have flexibility in learning, with wider choicesoutside their disciplines of study. The CBCS facilitatesstudents to acquire the required skills to enhance theiremployability.

Centralized Research Laboratories were established in thethrust areas such as Water Quality Management, Nano-Technology, Medical Bio-Technology, Advanced Materials& Processing, Chemical Analysis and Industrial Bio-Technology. GITAM instituted good number of scholarships andfellowships for meritorious UG & PG students. The innovationhelps people to reduce their electricity bill and has wonthe Smart City Hackathon prize.

The students of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering ,Hyderabad campus have built an Electrical vehicle andwon a prize in All India E-Baja 2018 held at Indore. Theyhave also secured top rank in All India Endurance Racing.A team of students from Computer Science Engineering,Bengaluru campus have successfully launched a Startupnamed Imtello Social Media Networking Pvt. Ltd. atBengaluru. Good number of students developed newdesigns and registered their innovations for patents.

3. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

i) The details of the centres will be available tocandidates in the website www.gitam.eduwww.gitam.eduwww.gitam.eduwww.gitam.eduwww.gitam.edu. GITAMreserves the right to cancel any test centre and insuch a case, candidates allotted to these centreswill be accommodated in an alternate test centre.

ii) Depending on the administrative convenience, testmay be conducted for a limited number of days insome of the centres. The final list of test centres,venues and days of test will be announced onlyafter receiving all the applications and candidateswill be informed of the same through GITAMwebsite to enable the candidates to choose their

centre, date and time for the test as per theirconvenience and availability of slots in any of theaforesaid centres. Candidates should indicate 2different test centres, in the order of preference,in the application for consideration by GITAM.

iii) The candidate has to register his/her name at theregistration counter in the test centre.The e-hall tickets of the candidates will be verifiedby the proctor to confirm each candidate’s identity.The candidate has to produce any authorised photoidentity card. Each candidate will be allotted a seatwith a computer. Candidate must take the allottedseat 15 minutes before the commencement of thetest.

iv) Candidates will not be allowed to carry any textualmaterial, printed or written, bits of papers or anyother material except the e-hall ticket into the testhall. Candidates are also not permitted to bringcalculators, slide rules and any electronic gadgetsthat lead to malpractice or any other object that islikely to provide unfair assistance.

v) No candidate will be allowed to go outside the testhall till the completion of the entire durationof allotted time for the test. Once a candidate leavesthe test hall, he/she will not be permitted tore-enter the test hall under any circumstances.

vi) No waiting facilities will be provided for family andfriends at the test centres.

vii) Candidates should maintain perfect silencethroughout the test. All actions of the candidate inthe test hall will be under video surveillance. Anyconversation or gesticulation or disturbance in thetest hall shall be deemed as misbehavior and ifany candidate is found using unfair means orimpersonation, his/her candidature will becancelled and they will be liable to be debarredfrom taking examination either permanently or fora specified period, as decided by the institution.GITAM reserves the right to withhold the result ofsuch candidates.

viii) Candidates must sign in the attendance sheet inthe presence of the proctor. The candidate mustobey the rules of the test centres, otherwise he /she will be automatically debarred from the test.

ix) In rare and unlikely event of a technical failureduring the test, the candidate may be required totake the test again.

4. important instructions

i) Candidates should arrive at the test centre onehour before the scheduled time. There will be anon-site orientation before the test commences.If candidates do not report on time, they are likelyto miss some of the general instructions relatingto the test. The test hall will be opened 30 minutesbefore the commencement of the test.

ii) The candidate is expected to have basic familiaritywith use of computer like use of keyboard andmouse operation. It is the responsibility of thecandidate to acquire these skills before appearingfor the test and the Institution cannot take anyresponsibility in this matter.

iii) The questions are generated from a large questionbank and all the candidates will get differentquestion sets. An expert committee will ensurethat the question sets are of equal standard,content, question type etc. In this matter, thedecision of GITAM is final and binding on thecandidate.

iv) The candidate must ensure that the computerallotted to him/her is switched on and anyproblem with the computer is to be intimated tothe Proctor immediately.

v) All the questions will be in English medium only.All the questions will be of multiple choice.

vi) On completion of the test, the computer will displaythe result in terms of number of total correctanswers and wrong answers and the net score.

vii) No student will be allowed to repeat the test in thesame year.

viii) The method adopted for resolving ties shall be inthe order of scores in Mathematics / Biology,Physics, Chemistry and age of the candidate.

ix) The ranks secured by the candidates will beannounced within one week from the date ofcompletion of GAT - 2019.

5. Merit List for Admissions

i) The merit position of the candidates for admissionwill be based on the rank obtained in GAT - 2019subject to the rule of reservation as per UGCguidelines / norms as applicable to GITAM. Acandidate qualified in GAT - 2019 will be eligiblefor admission only if he / she fulfils therequirement of minimum marks in the qualifyingexamination as per the eligibility criteria.

ii) 25% of seats are reserved for meritoriousstudents from Karnataka State for admissionat Bengaluru Campus.

application form.iii) In all matters in the conduct of GAT - 2019, the decision of

the Vice-Chancellor will be final. All disputes pertainingto GAT shall be subject to the jurisdiction ofVisakhapatnam.
