Discerning the color of one colony from another is always a challenge. Brilliance GBS Agar has made it easier with a medium formulation that colors GBS colonies a bright pink, while non-GBS colonies are either inhibited, or grow a dark blue or purple. The medium also inhibits the growth of extraneous bacterial strains, detects non-haemolytic GBS strains and resists UV discoloration.
